The first time I ever colored/dyed my hair I was 15 and I went from havin dark brown hair to platinum blonde...I know I was young and thought I knew it all LOL My hair has also been colored red, light brown, and my current color which is black. When I was 17 I wanted to color my hair pink because Gwen Steffani had her hair that color and it looked hot on her but I didnt do it because my parents said no..thank god they did. So mylot friends how many colors have you colored/dyed your hair?

when i was about 15 i put the first lot of streaks in my hair, which were 6 red and 6 blonde at the hair dressers, i have a dark blondie colour hair and i have had this colour since i was about 5 (when i was a baby it was a light colour blonde lol) then the second time i just put red in it about 8 streaks, which i was about 16 or nearly 17 which my partner put it in my hair at home and then when i was about 17 and a half i went and got red and blonde streaks again done at the hair dressers this time lol. then a few months ago my best friend put 6 red streaks in it. and i have been holding out to go outrageous and put purple in it but my partner says "dont be stupid" lol. and i put purple streaks in my friends hair the same day she did mine with red but her hair is a dark brown so the purple only just came through. so it has been well spread out since i put colours in my hair. and one day when i have money i would like to put another lot of streaks in it. (maybe go rainbow lol)

Its funny because people can literally have any hair color they want and some people are more brave to actually walk around with blue or green..which I think is fine. I guess if I didnt have a daughter I would go more extreme like pink LOL! I have always wanted that color hair but I know when she starts school all the other mothers are going to be lookin at me crazy..oh well who cares right? Thanks for responding!

I've dyed my hair a lot over the years. I naturally have dark blonde hair. My first experience with hairdye was bright red. And then I went dark brown, then back to red. And then I bleached my hair (which is in my avatar picture). Then black, back to blonde, and finally back to red. Once I got pregnant I had to stop dying my hair and it's faded to almost my natural color. So I think I'm done dying my hair forever. Or atleast for a few years.

We have similiar hair experiences...going from black to blonde is extremely hard to do and it really damages the hair going through that process. When I got pregnant I said I wouldnt dye my hair anymore but soon as it hit 5 months and I saw my roots looking ridiculous I knew it was time to go to the salon.

Hello.gorgeous,i have dyed my hair into golden color once long time ago,but i did not like it because it did not match with my skin color well,i think i look nice with my natural black hair, also i know it is not good for the health of the hair if one dyes his/her hair too often because it will damage the hair follicles permanently.

Hello easy888..Yes I agree its not good for the hair when you color it too often only when its needs to be retouched. Everyone says I look better with red or black hair which I have now and I like it too but every now and then I get the desire to change it. Thanks for responding!

Since I was in high school (long time ago) I've always hated my natural hair color, dull brown. So I have colored my hair blonde a lot. At one point, because my hair was so long and I had colored it so many times, it was 4 different shades of blonde. Some people thought it looked cool, but I thought it looked weird so I cut it short. Since then, I've been platinum blonde and just frosted highlights, but I'm trying to cope with the natural color right now. I have a feeling it will be blonde again soon. But I've never gone with different colors, although my son was blue one time, then green, then white. He grew past that stage though thank goodness:)

Hello KatieS....so you got the blonde fever too LOL! Dont worry I have it too, I want to color my hair blonde soo bad but Its hard to go from having black colored hair to blonde so I think Im stuck with the black for awhile :( but you should definitely go back to a blonde because people like me cant so if you can do it I say GO FOR IT! Oh I adore your son already...I think its cool when you see people with different hair colors than the norm. Thanks for sharing your story!

I have been many shades of blonde as well as being a redhead LOL (my hubby likes red hair and I think it looks good on me too LOL). My REAL hair color is in my picture on my avitar--a brown LOL I have been dying my hair since I was roughly 17-18 years old.

The first time I ever put any color on my hair was after I highlighted in my senior year of high school. Originally, I am a brunette, but I have been a redhead and a blonde, and I am now a brunette again but a caramel brown, which I like best.

Ooooh Caramel Brown sounds nice, its not too dark or too light which is pretty good in my opinion. Thanks for responding!

I colored my hair for the first time ever last June. I didn't actually completely color it even then. I had it highlighted with 3 different shades. I liked it a lot and have kept it up since then.

I don't need to dye my hair. It goes all different shades all on its own. If I stay in the sun too long it goes a touch of orange especially the beard! The hair was called "affectionately Salt and Pepper" it's now just Salt. I'm doing my best to hang on to what is left! Too many washes with "Wash and Go" guess. My colleague at work has coloured hers red and I have to admit she looks sensational, if not a little scary. My other colleague considers herself to be Ash blonde, but it's grey really. I hope she doesn't read this!

The 1st time I ever changed the color of my hair was when your Aunt did my blonde highlights (remember that?). I'm not very creative when it comes to my hair and i'm scared to change it drastically. Mostly I just leave it my natural color or put blonde highlights in it. I dyed it red once (when I was back in HS) but I didn't like it very much.

Yeah, I should have left my hair a virgin. It's extremely damaged and adding all of these chemicals to it does not help the situation but we all want a "new look" so that could explain why we purposely DESTROY our hair with these chemicals.

Ha. When I was 13 I went from my natural color of platinum blonde to Black. Then I had black with different color streaks (pink red orange blue etc etc etc). Then I went for red and had all shades of red... then I went back to blonde but I dye it with either dark shades of brown in streaks or black in streaks. Currently it's my natural blonde on top with Natural black dyed underneath and around my face. If I were to look at an aisle of hair dye, I'd say I've probably dyed my hair at least 70% of those colors. The except being blonde as I only ever use the bleach color.

It's funny, I'd rather have darker hair naturally. I find people to be much more attractive with darker hair than blonde hair..there's only a few exceptions but for the most part I think dark hair is more attractive. I guess why I've always dyed my own hair darker.

My natural hair color is jet black, I did it for the first time a year ago. I now regret it and wish I could get my color back, since it has stayed a little bit lighter. It looked nice I just prefer my natural hair color.

i dyed my hair red my first year of HS. since then i just go back and forth with different shades of brown. i don't like to take to many risk when it comes to my hair. cause if you look a hot mess you have to look a hot mess for a minute before you can fix it

Hey girl, I had to look a hot mess for almost a week because I had colored my dark hair blonde and it seriously came out HORRIBLE! I wanted to cry my eyes out and to top it off my sclap felt like it was burning while the hair color was on my head so I had to wait almost a week for my scalp to recover and when it did I just colored the whole head back to black. Never will I ever do that again...worst experience. So you have a good idea about not taking to many risks when it comes to coloring your hair..it could get messed up badly. Thanks for responding!

My hair has been about any color you can think of. When I was a really little kid, it was naturally red, and then it turned really dark brown (with some red highlight) on its own. It's been dyed blue, green, red, pink, purple, pretty much anything. There were times when I had multiple colors in it at once, kind of a rainbow effect. =p I haven't dyed my hair in a long time really, because I've had jobs where I couldn't really have it any funny colors, and subtle hair colorings just don't interest me much. Most recently I did use henna on it, but the effect wasn't much, basically just adding a bit more of the red highlights I already have.

I have had several different hair colors. Lets see...when I was young, my friend was in a beauty school and I let her practice highlighting my hair. I have very dark hair with red natural highlights in it, so she would put very light blond highlights in it and blended it with my red lowlights. It was very nice. I have also dyed my hair burgundy, red, jet black and now I am back to dark brown. Most of the time I used to have blonde highlights in my hair for the longest time. I really liked it that way.

I love the blonde highlights on dark hair. It does bring out the color better. I think I might go back to that since it is summer and it is nice and fun to have. I hope you enjoy your new hair color!

So I take it you ddint get the colors you were looking for? The bleach color always comes out totally different the first time you do it which sucks because you have to keep bleaching it to get the blonde color you want and that damages the hair so bad. Thanks for responding
