I know, I just wish I could make him realize that things between me and him are the same. I still do all the same things with him but with a twist, I know he will get over it and grow to love the new family but it hurts me to see him so put out by things.

Hey there and CONGRATS!!!!! I am sorry that your baby arrived a little sooner than expected, he seems a great weight =) I cannot image being away from my children for 10 days I mean being there for a day seems like a 100 to me =( I am very very Happy though that you and baby are doing well and back at home with your family! CONGRATS AGAIN

Thank you very much. The stay in the hospital was so long, not only was I away from my oldest son but the baby was in ICU for 8 of the 10 days so I only saw him at feeding times. The longest 10 days I have ever lived. I am so happy to be home with them all now. Thank you again.

Congratulations on your new baby boy!
My daughter came 3 weeks early and we weren't prepared. I thought I would go in for some pain med's or something to sleep and go home. I almost had her by myself because we had no one to watch our son.
Why did you have to stay in the hospital so long?
That is a pretty good size for a 33 weeker.

At 33 weeks babies don't know how to suck so they can't nurse. My son was tube fed for 3 days on the 4th day he ripped the tube out and every time they put a new one in he took it out right away, so we bottle fed and nursed under doctor care. When pre-term babies need NICU care they must demonstrate the ability to feed on their own, maintain oxygen levels on their own without the need for oxygen tubes, maintain body temperature levels on their own without the need for heaters, and demonstrate good weight gain. After all of that they then have to go through something called the car seat test, this test is to ensure that their O2 levels don't drop while in the more up right position that a car seat puts infants in. Pre-term babies have a hard time keeping an open air way making car seats one of the most dangerous places for them. This test consists of them sitting under nurse watch untouched for 1 and a half hours on an O2 monitor, if their O2 levels drop below 80% and they can't bring it up on their own they fail the test. Jordan failed his first test and had to do it a second time before we could leave.

Congratulations on the new addition to your family! I'm so glad your home and all back together again. Ten days is a long time to be in the hospital, I hope you didn't have too rough of a time. I'm sure Adrian is thrilled to have his baby brother and Mom home. Best wishes to you all!

Thank you so much. Delivery was a breeze, I was in labour for 3 hours and because he was smaller I was ok after. I was so sick of the hospital and so sick of being away from my guys I was almost begging the doctors to let us go home. I am so happy that Jordan is doing as well as he, there were a couple of families in the special care unit that had been there for so long and were facing so much more before they could go home. I almost felt guilty that we where going home so soon and they couldn't even see the end yet. Adrian is a very proud big brother he is telling everyone about his baby brother and he is so cute he uses the baby's full name all the time. Thanks again.

Hi! Congratulations! And good to know that you and your baby are well. Your boy Adrian must be very proud to be a big brother. Your new baby boy has the same birthday as my hubby, June 30. What's the name of your new baby boy?

Well happy birthday to your husband. Adrian is in love with his brother. He has told everyone about Jordan (the babies name is Jordan Riley). My husband says he tells everyone he passes in stores and on the street that he is a big brother and his brothers name and how much he weighs. Adrian is such and angel and so good with the baby.

Oh hun, how wonderful. So glad all is well. My last 2 babies were several weeks early (my oldest daughter 6 weeks and my youngest daughter 4 weeks) and mine had to stay in for 10 days as well. What is the newest family members name? I bet Adrian is enjoying being a Big Brother :-) CONGRADS hun

Thank you, His name is Jordan Riley. Being in the hospital was the hardest part, I hated being away from Adrian I have never spent more then a couple of hours away from him until now. He is loving being a big brother; he got up this morning and bi-passed me for the baby, I didn't get a kiss from him until almost an hour after he got up he was so deeply immersed in his brother. Thank you again.

Wow that is a long time to be in the hospital. When I had my 3rd child, he was a week early and I had to have a C-section. Even then, I was only in the hospital for 3 days. I would go crazy being in the hospital that long! Even 3 days was driving me nuts!
Anyway congrats to you, and I wish you the best with the new addition!

Thank you very much. I was so crazy from being unable to get outside that when we got home the first thing I did was drag the whole family out for a walk. 10 days was so long and with nothing to do but visit the nursery. I couldn't hold Jordan very long because of the monitors he was on, a half hour at a time with at least an hour in between. On day 9 the monitors came off so I had more to do the last day then the days before that.
