Let's debate in poetry form!!

It's true we are all poets,
Though some of us don't know it!
And that is why
I'm gonna try
To get you all to show it!
You won't get any money
If you did that would be funny!
So just have fun
And when you're done
You can show it to your honey!
You can share your feelings
On all kinds of dirty dealings;
So take your time
And make it rhyme
If you can't, there's no hard feelings!
You can pick from any topic,
So try to find a hot-pick!
Just keep it light,
Don't cause a fight!
Cause I would have to stop it!
Write of something that excites you
Or someone who delights you
This is just an example,
An amateurish sample;
Do better, I invite you!
Take your best shot at making a comment on any subject in the form of a poem! Don't be shy, nobody is going to criticize your ability, it's all in fun!

Ah, the fun
And wonderful puns
But poetry does not need rhyme
Just the fullness of time
My poetry is in the eyes
To make you picture my sighs
To see the sunset
To see the tree
To seal the bet
To see inside me
LOL..ok, that's just off the top of my head...

I know a poem needn't rhyme,
But that's what most expect
In contests most of the time
That's what they would select
That doesn't mean that they're right,
They could well be incorrect,
As we've learned on election night
About the one that they elect.
But rhyme or not, it's fine with me
As long as someone reads them!
I just hope it brings some laughs, you see,
Because I surely need them!

If all goes well
And doesn't go to hell
in a hand-basket
The USA won't need a casket.
True, rhymes are fun
And I do like to pun.
But for me, when I write
Rhymes aren't everything in the light

Don't cause a fight is good advice
Hopefully people will play nice
Debates are better based on facts
Not emotions or personal attacks
Heated discussions will ensue
but remaining civil is good on you

Should Scooter's sentence have been commuted?
Should the whole Bush Administration be booted?
Should the voices of dissenters be completely muted?
Should all of our rights be further diluted?
Should the environment continue to be polluted?
Should the mainstream media be more disreputed?
Should the 2000 election now be disputed?
Should Cheney be jailed for the guy he shooted?

It must have take you forever
to write this poetic endeavour.
I applaud your sense of fun
and praise a job well done.
And though I like to write
I'm not quite up to it tonight.
I am tired and in pain -
that time of the month again.
So I'll leave you and your friends
to carry this project to the end.
