Do SIRE'S Recognizes his Puppies?

Our dog gave birth last may 18 she had 7 puppies it was amazing how she manages her puppies after almost 2 months the damn started to get tired of her puppies, after this time everytime the puppies tried to get near to their Sire he started to bark and get irritated just wondering why??Anyways just trying to be observant bout it does your sires recognizes his puppies?

Hmm, I'm not sure about all dog breeds but the sire of the litter that my dog had recognizes his offspring. It also helps that one of the pups live with him and the rest live near by. My parents kept one of the puppies as did I. The mother of all the puppies live with my parents but she also gets to see her babies and she never gets tired of them and loves to play with them. I guess it would mainly depend on the breed of the dog. I wouldn't worry about it though.

Yes, sure they recognize their children. All of the male dogs that I used for breeding just knew: These are my children. But they are bothered by them. Most of them will not play with them. All the work is for the mother. When the puppy goes towards the father he will look disgusted and he tells the puppy that he is superiour and that it is none of his business. Just like in the good old days when it was not guy`s work to change diapers. Very few very young males (below age two) will play with their puppies.
