You've done everything for him/her and he/she is still crying. You can tell they are only tired. What do you do, let them cry it out or what?

When my kids were infants I put them in their crib and let them cry it out if they dont go to sleep then I would put them up and try it all over again I have then noticed that soft music works for them.My kids also liked to have thier backs rubed.Good luck to you I hope that this will work for you.

He's about to turn 3 months old, two weeks ago his second tooth came in. But I finally after holding him through the crying put him in his bassinett (felt bad doing it as he was still crying)....he fell fast asleep. Apparently he was just fighting it. I did look online though to see why he would be crying...mind ya he is my 4th. I knew it wasn't ears as there were no other signs, teeth (well a possibility but that wouldn't be any fair now), no fever, etc.

Try "little Tummies" he may have gas. My baby is was the same way and that help her. Give him a little of that and lightly pat him on his back or side (victoria likes light taps on her side) that usually works with my baby.

I think it should really depend on the age of the baby. I don't think it will hurt ANY baby, to cry for five minutes, but I would hate to hear of people letting infants/newborns cry it out, as they really do NEED that attention and to be held. But that doesn't really count for colicky babies, who will not stop crying regardless, and I'm sure there are situations where it is better for a child to be in the crib than in your arms if you have no help or are extremely frustrated. ONce my children were about 3 months old, we did the whole "cry it out" method and it worked well. Actually my youngest has been sleeping through the night since we did it with no problems..

It depends on what the baby is crying and moreover when my kid cries i just pick him up and by rubbing his back and making him sleep on my shoulder works out good and he will quite with in 10 to 15 min .

I NEVER EVER let my baby cry it out.He was not spoiled when he was young as babies don't know how to manipulate yet.(that comes later,LOL)I wanted my son to feel safe and secure. He grew up a very happy baby.

i have the same problem with my 18 1/2 month old son so don't feel alone. If he is screaming i rock and pat him for a bit untill he calms down then i put him to bed. Then he starts screaming again. I usualy just let him scream for a bit then almost always he tires himself out and falls asleep. It only lasts for 3 minutes. I feel awfull but at his age you have to let them do it so they do not get too dependent on you. When he is in one of his screaming fits though i have to hold him till he either calms down or goes to sleep in my arms as there is no stopping him from screaming unless i hold him. Wich can be tough as he gets realy heavy and my arm falls asleep. But he goes to sleep fine then i put him in his cot.

what age is the baby. kids on early age really cries a lot for they cant put it in words. the hardest part of it is to look for the reason or guess the reason why the baby is crying. when my children are smaller they would do that too so it is natural. if ever i did everything i can my last thing is to change their clothes put powder at their back. sometimes it works and sometimes no. try it. goodluck

I think there's a huge difference between crying it out and fussing it out. My little man gets super fussy when he's tired but it's not really a cry. And even if I try to rock him to sleep, he still needs to fuss a little to put himself to sleep. So I let him fuss a little in his crib but if it gets to where he's screaming and his poor little face is turning red, then I pick him up. I coslept with him until he was 6 weeks old and letting him cry a little was the only way that we got him to sleep in his crib. And just within the past week I'm starting to put him in his crib for naps which has been a hard adjustment on both of us. So the poor thing has had to fuss it out a little bit for every nap.
