Does it bother you when people don't wipe their feet before coming in your house

I hate it when people come in and dont' worry about wiping their feet.I think it is kinda rude to do that because it tracks dirt all over the floor then it has to be cleaned up.It only takes a couple of seconds to do it .What do you think? Does it bother you when someone tracks dirt on your floor because they didn't want to take the time to wipe their feet?

it does, but if i tell the menfolk to wipe their feet after working all day,i barely get a grunt in recognition.i usually don't say anything though, because i know they're tired.
it actually annoys me more when people track snow in-then i have water all over the floor.

I had to laugh when i read your response about the menfolk.Brought back some memories of my mom fussing at my dad when he came home from work.My mom didn't care, they wiped their feet or else. She was a pistol my mom. She got lax when she started getting ill and my dad got into not wiping his feet. I was too busy taking care of mom to enforce it.now it's engrained in his brain and I have a hard time with him about it

It does. And I have a rug on the outside of the door, and the inside. I remember when I moved in several monts ago, the cable installer just came in, boots covered in mud, not caring a thing he was tracking it all over my brand new carpet. Same thing with the maintanece man here at my apartment complex. He came to fix a tile in the bathroom. It had been raining and he didn't take a second to wipe his boots off. It is inconsiderate. The first thing I do when entering a house or business, is making sure I wipe my feet if they have a rug provided.

I would have been saying something to those guys lol. It's so rude. I too have a mat on the outside and the inside and people rarely use it unless I ask. My brother did that.He came over saturday to help with the car, walked in and had dirt and sand all over my carpet which happens to be light tan!

Hello jerseygirl,
It doesn't bother me if they don't wipe their feet when they come in to my house. You want to know why? The reason I do not care is because, I make everyone take their shoes off at the door, then I know there won't be any tracking stuff throughout my house.
Peace, Totty

I take my shoes off once I enter my own house. But no way could I ever get other people to do it. I like cultures though that kind of practice that. I don't think it is rude to ask people to remove their shoes, and a lot of people provide cheap slippers for them instead. At least I've met a few people who do it that way.
