Does any1 know about parvo?

My pit passed away a month ago of parvo :( and we buried her in our backyard. can my other dog still catch it since its still in the yard?

It is an airborne disease and can stay around especially in the ground for about 7 years...Its quite a nasty disease.

Its horific to watch too...I have seen this about 20 years ago and I cannot erase it from my memory... Thanks for the best response.

Yes, they can. Especially if they are not vaccinated against parvo. If they are vaccinated against parvo yearly they should have adequate protection. You should avoid having puppies as they would catch it very quickly. It stays in the soil of your property for years and is spread as the wind blows.

I think putting lime down in the area of where she is buried it helps. I am not positive, but I have heard before that it helps to keep the spread of disease down. You can get it at the hardware store. I would double check on it though.
