Here is a intresting discussion for everyone courtesy of my mother-in-law. My husbands dad and stepmom took the kids for a week to give us a mini vacation. So when they brought them back my mother-in-law commented on how nice the yard looked. I told her thank you and she asked me why I would be thanking her instead of my husband. I told her I mowed the yard not my husband. She then procceded to give me a lecture about what was considered womens work and what was mens work around the house. Basically yard work , fixing stuff around the house, remodling, going out and working outside the home was the mans job and the woman had to take care of the kids, cook and clean. Well in my home it doesnt work that way. Me and my husband divide up the chores and the yardwork is what I take care as well as paying the bills. As far as cooking and cleaning and taking care of the kids we divide that up.
My mother-in-law is living in the past and I think she needs to get out of the past and into the present.
But what do you think, is there still such a stero type as womens work and mens work.

Yes you are right with that, me as a Father I am doing the yard work, washing dishes, washing clothes, cooking, cleaning the house especially when there is no house-helper available. Well, the only thing is that I dont allow my wife to do the yard work.
