I am very depressed after seeing my reputation rating? Just 55/100?

Ok friends,
I am feeling very depressed after watching my reputation rating. It is just 55/100. Just have a look on my responses. They are not short. They are of good quality. I have written nothing wrong on any response. Tried to spend more time online to complete my 100 posts with good descriptive and qualitative responses. But at the end of the day, what I can see is green star with just 55 rating.
I cannot understand. I think I need your help on this. How I am rated very low? Is it because of my speed or something else?

I'm still confused over something ...
I am using FireFox browser - and I can not see the rating (xx/100), when I hover my mouse over folk's stars ... anyone else having this problem?

Hey, be happy. You have one hundred posts. This in itself is an achievement.
You will see your star rating go up and also fluctuate for a while. This is normal. Because 55 out of one hundred voted for you.
If you have 1000 posts the rating is not influenced so much by a couple of negative votes. If you only have 100 posts it pulls you down quite a bit.
This happens to many of us. But you will see that when you have 200 posts your rating will already be much better.
I started out with a white star and now it is red.
Well, what was nicer for me than this star rating is that I reached payout twice.

Hi Inky,
Thanks for your explanation. But, I still very low. My responses are always descriptive. My English is also good. Actually, I was under the impression that my reputation rating depends upon the quality of my responses. Now, I have understood it is indirectly related to it. Let's see what happens when I reach 200.

I like to read what you write and alone in this discussion you got two positive votes from me. Because I rate posts plus.
I just experienced that my rating was low at the start and then it was going up and down for a while and the more I posted the better the rating got.
It might help to have friends who do rate.
Not all my lotters bother to rate.

You have also got + rating from me. And every response from my end to your discussion is with + plus rating. Thanks a lot for you support. Let's see how things change after a week as I am going to my home town for one week. So, I may not be here on mylot.

First congrats on reaching 100 comments, I did that today as well. It takes a lot to make it that far, it means ya keep coming back. Course I'm no where near payout so I'll be coming back a lot more often now that I've seen I made it here.
I saw that I ranked 88 or something like that. I read somewhere it takes you to vote for others as well, in the beginning I did not know this. Make sure ya always rate everyone and pick the best responses in your discussions. This will help ya out. Hope something here helps.
Cheer up once you hit that next hurdle I hear ya can copy and paste.

Well, I've a few days behind but I see your rating is up to 89 now - that's how it was for me too. Each day it went up more. At one time I was at 99 but broke my heart when I dropped to 98 - now I can't seem to get it back up.

I just checked your discussion -- it's 3 days old and I guess you are popular by now .. your rating currently is 90/100 .. I can say it's all because of your quality posts here and your true friends .. who must have always rated you positive and it increased your reputation number .. that's a really great thing now .. Hello beachlover. Congratulations on reaching your 100th posts. I see that your reputation had shoot up to 90 already. Good for you and a job well done. Someone above have already explained to you precisely about our star rating.
I used to be real affected even with a single drop of my reputation too. But I'm already numbed with it. Just consider that our star had a mind of its own. Continue posting and you'll find your way to a lovely 10 in no time at all. Good luck. :)
