Sony confirms PS3 price cut. Would you buy 1 soon?

Sony spokesperson David Karraker has confirmed that as of Monday, the 60GB version of PS3 will retail for US$499, meaning a $100 price drop. Sony will be releasing a new 80GB version which will come bundled with Motorstorm. More details of its High Def movie service are expected in a later date and the remaining of Sony's current fiscal period will see PS3 receiving about 100 titles, of which 15 to be exclusive.
Good news for gamers? Would you get PS3 soon?

That is good news but I'm still waiting for it to drop just a little bit further. If it goes down to like $300-$400, it could be all right. Right now at this time, I really haven't found a game that I'd want to get for the PS3. It'll be interesting to see if it can work out well.
I say maybe if the selection of games are good. Then I can probably consider picking one of those up.

you can say that right now the game library are somehow limited, but there are also some good titles out there. Great titles are coming along the way for example, Devil May Cry 4, GTA4,etc

Yeah that's true. I guess it's just a matter of time. I'll check out the titles and games when they come out to help decide if the PS3 will be worth it. I just hope Sony learned a lesson not to launch a video game system at that price again.

If the price has been reduced like that than It would be easier for me to Buy A PS3 because I love playing games on The Consoles Espically on Xbox 360 and PS3

right. so 5 months after I posted this discussion, there are now more options from Sony.
40GB PS3 White / Black,
60GB PS3 (but they are phasing them out)
20GB PS3 - worse of the PS3 variants
80GB PS3
and more, the DualShock controller!

Im gon get a ps3 once a few more games im waitin on comes out for it, but i might just end up gettin it now because of madden n gta4 plus tha price drop.

I won't, simply because I have yet to hear about any games that makes me feel "I need to play this right now!" My PS2 will be fine for now. Besides, I'm having way too much fun with Wii so far to consider another console.

I'm thinking of getting a wii as well but some thinking as looking around, i feel that wii has too much cutesy title that are not of like preference.

Even though they are cutting the price down to the 360s mark, I would STILL choose the 360 over the PS3. Although, I do think it was a good move on Sony's part to cut the price and bump it back up for a revamped version with more HD space. I don't think it will help them THAT much, but still. It's a great thing for those who want to buy a PS3.
