Have you ever asked yourself why you are living in this world? What the purpose of human life is? Many things are not so clear to us unless we would know God's plan. God has a plan and this plan has everything to do with man. In the Bible, God's plan is called God's economy. God's economy is simply God's entire plan for man. It gives us the detail of the origin and destiny of man as well as the meaning of human existence. Genesis 1:26 tells us that man was created according to the image of God. This is so marvelous. Hallelujah! God has created man-kind according to His image. But there is still much greater meaning of why did God create man according to His image. The first thing is that man was created in order to contain God. A glove is created according to the likeness of the hand with the purpose of containing God. Romans 9:23-24 says," God should make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which he had before prepared unto glory..." We are vessels of God. And God desires that He would be our content. It is no wonder why knowledge, wealth, pleasure, and accomplishment can never satisfy man, for we were created to contain Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 tells us about the parts of man. Mainly, there are three parts of man. The most superficial part of man is called the body. This refers to the physical body to contact physical things. The next part is the soul which is the mental faculty, contacting the things of the mental realm. And the deepest part of man is called the spirit, which contacts the things of God. Now talking about God's economy again, God wants to enter into man, specifically in man's spirit, to become his content and his satisfaction. And for this reason, Christ died for us that He might become our content as the life-giving spirit mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15:45.
