How much are you paying monthly for rent?

This just doesn't include the United States, this is an open discussion worldwide. With every year, prices, even taxes are going up sky high! Example, the place where we stay the rent here is over $1,600 a month for a house with 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms here in California. How about your rent? Is it cheap or expensive? Do you pay rent by yourself or do you have people that live with you also that pay rent?

I think rent is far too high. I live on the west coast of Canada and live in a 2 bedroom basement suite with my hubby, we pay $950 at the moment and in Oct. it is going up to $1075 or something horrible. We are looking for a place to buy because the rental vacancies are so low and the rents so high. It makes me sick to pay someone elses mortgage!

I'm not renting right now but when we did we were paying about $750 a month for a 2bed/1 bath. That was rare and in a not so nice neighborhood. Rent for a 2bed is usually around $1,000 for the cheapest. Seattle area is a killer for housing costs...thanks Microsoft.

I am paying $200 for the rent of a 2 bed room townhouse...but i think it is not worth it...I still feel like I live in a shanty town....full of noisy third world vehicles...overvrowded spaces all cars are parked on the road...the odor of every nanny's cooking spread all over...selfish people...all sorts faces...I really want to move in somewhere else.

We own our home here in TX. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 living areas, 2 dining areas, 2 car garage on a 1/8 acre lot. Our mortgage is roughly $1200. That is a bit low for the town that I live in but we have been in our house for about 12 years. We will likely sell soon for a bigger house and should be able to keep the mortgage payments in the same range based on what we will make on the sell of our home.
For $1600 a month, you should consider buying your home.... although I know that is tough in California.

Of course $1,600 a month is expensive! The good thing is there is me, two other roommates and my parents -- We all share the load to pay the rent. We used to live in some condos where they place was bought but already sold. Next year or so we are all going back to live in the Philippines.

The rent fee is also very high in my city in comparison with the average incomeing. But it is better to rent a house instead of buying the house as the total money we should pay for the house is more than 600 time the money we pay for rent every month. I also have the idea to move to my hometown where the living expense is much lower. Working in big city is a good idea, but it is not good to live there as the cost is too high. The government should take the responsiblity to handle this issue but it's so difficult to them as nearly each country face the same problem without a good solution.

hoho ,compared with the rent of $1600 a month ,i think my rent is far cheaper than you. i don't need to pay for the rent myself.my boss is responsible for it .i don't think it is good to live with others.i am willing to pay rent alone,no matter it is cheap or expensive.though now i can't afford to buy a house, i still want to keep my privacy to some extent.

You are lucky to have a boss pay the rent for you. When I was alone I was willing to live with other to reduce the rent. But after the marriage, my wife didn't want to live with others any more even we can rent a very big house. She thought living with other will destroy the privacy.

We have a 2 bedroom/bathroom house and only pay $465 a month. It's nice, but its cheap because most places here in Oklahoma are cheap. I use to live in Vegas and rent was high, it was about the same as you pay now. I don't know why some are higher then others because a 2 bedroom in Vegas was just as nice as the ones here. There are some here tht even have pools and are 3 bedrooms and rent out for about $700 a month. We are moving into a 3 soon. So our rent willl be going up. But it's still cheap.

Our rent is reasonable. I've been here for 3 years and for all those years have only ever been paying $990 a month for a 4 bedroom house in a good neighbourhood. My landlord just increased it, starting in September, to $1080 a month which is still reasonable for Edmonton. Most 2 bedroom apartments are around $900 a month, but in central and really good locations are over $1000 a month.
I have 2 roommates, too, so it helps pad expenses.

We pay i think $166 if converted to dollars and in Philippine Pesos it cost P7,500/monthly. We live in a rented up and down apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a dirty kitchen. We are in a compound place. I live with my brother and cousin. My father gives us money monthly to pay our rent here. For us, the rental here is quite expensive compare to other apartment in other places.

I am only paying 150 (my dollar currency)for my rent. With the rent, I get a huge house, a very wide land (almost one acre) with lots of fruit trees. The rent is cheap because I chose to live in a rural area. I prefer to have comfortable homes no matter where the area is.

Here in UK rental rates vary, in the area I live they are a little higher than there, a 3 bed house might be the equivalent of $2000 monthly. Elsewhere it could be more although most places less.
all the best urban

We live in Missouri, and we are renting a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home for about $700 a month, not including utilities. I know that when we were looking, the starting price of rental houses was $800 and up. I know that renting is just as expensive as paying on a mortgage. We are only renting for a year and then we are going to look for a house, we just had some credit issues that needed to be resolved, and so we are renting now. I know that people who own rental houses are doing it for the money, but it seems a horrible price to pay for renters.

we rented a space to be our home and business space as well... in this case, we are doubling the value of the money we are paying for the rental and transportation.
