What is Black gram?

Does any body know what is black gram called in urdu or hindi. Is it 'kala chana' or is it 'urad dal'?
I have searched on google and i have found these two translations but these are different things.
I think that urad dal is called black gram.

Kala Chana is as desi name, and as it is and indian dish, so u mightn not seen and english name for it as such, we may have some trasl;aions for it though :)
