Have you ever tried to share a bed with a person with Insomnia? It is so bad some nights especially when he decides he will just turn on the TV instead of leaving the room. He will toss and turn and sigh some nights until he wakes me up and then want to talk. I do not understand why he does this because I go to work early in the mornings. The doctor gave him some medicine and he will not take it. I am at my wits end. Any suggetions.

I'm the one with insomnia and my husbands snoring does not help me at all!
I don't know why yours won't take the medicine. That's crazy! I would give anything to have normal sleep.

Let me tell you he used to snore when he did sleep but he went and had a sleep study. They diagnosed him with sleep apnea. They gave him a machine and the few hours of sleep he gets he does not snore. He won't take the medicine because he says he is affraid of the side effects

I have the same experience with you. My room-mate is a girl who like night life. she back middle-night everyday but she never sleep. she likes watch TV for 3 hours.
she doesn't have insonia. she just like sleep in the daylight and play in the night. but I must work in teh daytime.
So I buy a set of earphone and eyeshade before half past years. Maybe you can try it .

Actually I'm usually the one who can't sleep...my boyfriend is usually sleeping way happily.
When I can't sleep and get really restless, I go into the other room to watch TV or go on the computer.
Does your husband have a lot of stress in his life? I know my insomnia is at it's worst when I am stressed. Maybe he is doing things to wake you up becuase he wants to talk but he does not want to wake yu up directly....instead let the TV wake you.
Insomnia can be lonely and stressful. Maybe suggest he joins and online community like mylot...this way when he is awake he can talk to other people about insomnia or other topics, I know that has helped me a lot.
Would it be possible to get a bigger bed? Or one of those faom mattersses so you won't be as disturbed?
I hope you find a medium that you both can deal with.
Good luck.

Make him tea that says it will help him sleep. There are varities of tea that help people sleep, calm them, soothe them. Also, starting an exercise regime with him where you jog early in the day. It is a known aid to sleep.
