Oma and Troy - They Grow Up Fast!

It seems like only yesterday I was bouncing my first grandson on my knee. Here is a picture of me and Troy when he was a couple of months old. He is now 6 years old and I can still sit him on my knee, but, it is a heavier load.

They sure do grow fast...My oldest grandson is 5 and the youngest is 3...I can remember the day they were born, I was in the room with my daughter during her c-sections...

I was in the delivery room when Troy was born. Thankfully Jess didn't have a c-section! I would have passed out.

When you say they grow up fast, you aren't kidding. I was in the delivery room for the birth of my first grandson and in fact I held him before my daughter did. I now have 4 grandsons and love them all dearly. I moved 1,000 miles away from them and thought I would die I missed them so much. Then my daughter and grandsons moved out to where I moved to and I was sooooo surprised at how much they had grown in the year I had not seen them. They stayed for a year and moved back east a little over 14 months ago and my heart aches for them. My youngest grandson was just starting to talk when they left and now he sings songs to me on the phone. I can't wait to go visit them and give them all big hugs and sloppy kisses but until then I have to be content talking to them on the phone. I know I will be shocked at how much they have grown.

I feel your pain. When Troy lived only 3 hours north of us, I wished he were closer. Everytime I got to see him, he had grown so much. If it weren't for the internet and the live chat, I wouldn't have seen him as often.

I agree! It is amazing how fast they grow! I remember all so clearly my eldest son being a baby and tiny on my lap. I remember him starting school and looking so small compared to all the big kids. And this coming August, he will be a Senior in high school...he will be 18 next year! The time is flying by!!! Where did it all go????

Awww...what a cute, and funny picture! haha No offense intended! :D I remember when I was younger...it was just yesterday! And, now I am just growing up so fast! I want to go back to yesterday! haha I also remember not that long ago all my younger brothers and sisters...they were babies. And, that is what we called them. Well, now they somehow became older and they are not babies anymore...they are the younger ones! LOL :D Yes, they do grow oh so fast!

OH it kills me! I keep insisting with my 10-year-old it was just yesterday I was changing her diaper. I can't get over how fast time flies now. As a child, it seemed to have crawled. How I miss that.

I can totally relate to what you are saying. My oldest grandson is three and it doesn't seem like that long ago that I was rocking him to sleep and now he has just recently grduated from preschool. And my other grandson, who is just over a year old, this time last year we weren't even sure if the little guy was going to live and now he is learning to walk. Time really flies sometimes.

My first granddaughter will be three soon. She was premature and really tiny, and although she is still small for her age, she has grown so much.

I'm expecting my first grandchild in October. I can't wait. I've been so jealous of all my friends already having grandkids. Now I've been happily looking at baby things and doing a little shopping. I'm also going to try and make a quilt for the crib.
