You are basically slowly killing those around you with second hand smoke. So do it you in your personal space. Second hand smoke kills as well, and if you're smoking and an asthmatic breathes it, isn't it basically worsening it, or even killing him/her? Then who would be responsible?

I sincerely hope it would be banned in public. Smoking and second-hand smoke are both lethal to a person's health. I have asthma and it's so difficult for me to breathe fresh air in the morning rush hour without coming accross several groups of people having a smoking session just outside of their buildings. I have avoided smoking and getting into the habit even with a lot of peer pressure, but the fact that i can't do much about second hand smoke is very frustrating.

I couldn't agree with you more. Second hand smoking is killing people. Smoking is now limited in state of Illinois including bars. If someone wants to smoke, should do it at least 15 feet away from other people.
