I know we have takin in alot of peoples from different countries but where is is going to stop we only have so much room and land to put all these people. Read this article I am getting from Yahoo.com news.

I want to know where our government think they are going to house these people and give them jobs and home and health care . When ones born here are having such a hard time making a living as it is and the pricing on land goes up food prices go up Its got to stop somewheres dont ya think?

I do not think it is our obligation to take people in and make sure they have what they need. As terrible as it sounds, I think our country is at a point where a quota needs to be set. When we reach that quota, all the people who came to this country have to get out. I don't mind someone wanting to come here and work for a better quality of life, but it gets to be too much. If someone wants to come here, they need to become official, learn how to speak the English language and they should not be allowed the perks of government aid such as welfare. Only those who are born here should be allowed the help from the government. I have a feeling if people weren't going to get the free money less would be willing to risk their lives to get here.

I am going to harp on my continuous peeve. We get rid of all the illegal immigrants. Once they are gone we can consider what to do with new immigrants. We have made a "promise" to the Iraqis and I believe we should not break our promises. However our leaders should stop and think of the ramifications this will cause to our own people before they make such promises.

Politics are going to ruin this country, they don't use common sense, and they just want to win election...

I didn't read the article but I strongly agree that a limit must be set. It may seem harsh but our loyalty should be to our own people first. Thousands of women risk their lives each year to get here to have an "anchor baby". That is so wrong that the law allows someone who snuck in our country illegally to give citizenship to their offspring. It gives the mother a way to stay. It's sickening. I shouldn't have to pay extra to learn additional languages just to have a better playing edge in my own country. Yet ESL classes are offered free of charge on my tax dollar. It's not right. but the country is so divided on these issues, it may be a while before something more definitive is done. At least th immigration bill didn't pass for now. Missed it by 14 votes. When our government learns to help its own citizens first maybe, I will then be more inclined to be sympathetic toward the abundance of immigrants we have coming to our fair land.

I really understand your concern. Immigrant people are getting so much space in the USA. I am a Filipino and there are so many Filipinos already settled and working in the USA. If I am on your side, I would react the same. Though I am also dreaming of working in the USA even for at least two years to get some good money for capital and then I will be having my own business here in my country. I really understand your feelings on this matter.

thanks .
and you are going about it the right way and we welcome anyone coming to work for a better life but it has to be legal and I know you are doing it that way . I have worked with alot of Filipinos and they are all good people and have came here with their papers and all and most are hoping to go home to improve thier own country.
Good luck to you!
hugs and Blessings

Hi Lakota,
Although I am sypathetic toward immigrants of all kinds. I do have to say, you have a valid point.
Our resources are limited, there is only so much we can do for others. Our President, our politicians, our representatives should not be making promises that we cannot keep.

I didn't read the report but I have to agree with your feelings on this subject. We are having the same issues here. I could say more only my feelings are just too negative so I'll keep my mouth shut. I just consider myself very lucky to be born where I was. If they would only leave behind the life they've left behind but sadly they continue as if it's all the same. I think the price WE end up paying is too high.

So true am glad I was born in this country too the good old U.S.A.! I dont know what I would do if I was froma country that was at war for 100s of years. And yes they can keep their belives but try harder to become better amercain citizens for their better way of life and not take advantage of all the free stuff. I think we are taking in more than we can handle al at once.
