I love the end pieces to make toast. They get crunchyer then the middle pieces do. I also use them to make bread pudding. They hold together better then the middles. I like to dip the toasted ends into hot cocoa, Yummy. What part of the bread do you like? How do you use it?

Yes - I do love these end pieces...I don't toast them but do like to eat the bread just as it is with maybe a hunk of cheese - it does have a different taste from the rest of the bread...and anyway, I was always told by my mother to "eat the ends" of thr bread so that my mother-in-law would love me (an old Greek wive's tale ;-)) So, IL2Knit - I bet your mother-in-law loves you!

I love it all, I always go for the end bit on fresh bread but I remember when I was a little girl when my mother sent me down to the local shop to buy bread it was always what we call Vienna bread and by the time I would get home there would be a big hole in the middle, sometimes that bread was still warm how could a little kid resist that hey...hahahah :)

I like anything BUT the end pieces. In fact, growing up the only person who liked the end pieces of the bread was my dad. My mom, sister, and I would prefer to use the end pieces for cooking or just throw it away, but since my dad loves those pieces so much, we always saved them for him. I think he likes those so much because that is what he got at his home growing up. He was 15 out of 16 kids, so when you are that low on the totem pole, you get the leftovers, and not a lot of his siblings preferred the end pieces, resulting in him getting them most of the time.

I like the ends too, toasted with butter and jam or peanut butter on it. Much more crunchier to eat with than the middle.

I'm like you, I like the end piece for toast. I like my toast to be really crispy and it is even more so with end pieces. I almost never put butter on my toast because I don't like that it makes it soggy. But the end pieces don't get soggy with butter so it is a treat for me now and then to get to have buttered toast.

I usually give the end pieces of the bread to the birds. But yesterday all I had was the end pieces and I so wanted a grilled cheese sandwich, so I ended up using them. It was really good. I don't know why I have always avoided those pieces. I mostly use bread for sandwiches. I am not much of a toast person.

I love having the end pieces as well. I use them for all sorts of things. When a recipe calls for bread crumbs, like in a casserole, I will use the ends because I can get a lot more good crumbs from those pieces.
Then, I have this quirk. We buy hamburger patties and I love being able to use the ends as a "bun" almost when I make home made hamburgers. They are almost like having a bun, but I find that I can get them a little more crunchier than regular bread or even some of the buns we can buy in the store. I can get a little mayonnaise, some ketchup, mustard, relish, and lettuce and have a great burger with the end pieces.

I save the ends from several loafs in the freezer for bread pudding too. I'll also grab one, toast it up & grind it in my blender when I need breadcrumbs. I like the ends of fresh, homemade bread for bread & butter snacks.I don't really like the ends for sandwiches though, it's just not the right texture imo.
