What does the star with the number mean next to someones name mean?

I notice that alot of people have a different colored star with a number next to it and I was wondering what that represented. I try to answer as many questions as I can but its hard when you have four kids running around. So how do you acheive a star and what does it mean?

Well you will also get a different colored star on mylot only when you reach 100 posts .. so to get a star you should get 100 numbers .. members are rewarded automatically with -- 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and the beautiful 10 number with their work on mylot .. if they are good in mylot and they used to respond a lot with quality posts and used to get -- best responses and + then they usually get 9 -- I got 9 when I reached 100 .. some members are too good in mylot that they used to receive 10 when they reach 100 .. So let's see how much you will get once you reach 100 .. It's a kind of excitement to get your first star :) .. Happy mylotting my dear friend :)

It is how Mylot rates them. I do not pay attention to it. You will get one once you post enough. I think it is 100.

Wow, I have the questions which more than 300,but only five star,you will more than 100 stickers, Star has scored 9,how do you do it?

I am not really sure how I do it lol. I try to answer as many as the no response discussion as possible and when I look at all the discussions I try to look for the ones that I could give a indepth response to. I have kids so I like the parenting and family discussions as well. I also do start alot of disscusssion and I get some great responses.

The number denotes approximately the number of discussions you have started, responded/replied, or commented to. The star is nothing but the rating that is being rated depending upon your discussion, if your discussion is good and useful, the members will give you a positive rating and hence your star value will raise and vice versa.
