Do You Have a Child With a Learning Difference (Disability)?

Hi parents. I am a special educator, and thought that it might be nice to provide the link to a wonderful site known as The National Center for Learning Disabilities, www.ncld.org It is an amazing resource for parents and educators alike. Too often, teachers and other education professionals talk a great deal of educational jargon during parent conferences and annual reviews. Parents are left wondering, "What the heck was he/she talking about?!" in regards to their child's learning difference(s), and educational goals/objectives. This site provides checklists, resources, and practical suggestions for parents in regards to the student's disability and his/her educational program and goals. The checklists are great because they help you to prepare, and ask questions one not might not typically know of, or think to ask the child's educator. If you have any questions, please feel free to post or send me a message. ;.D

Hi Juanamomof5. I went to the site, and located a few links to articles/checklists for dyslexia. They are as follows:
www.ncld.org/images/stories/downloads/parent_center/ldchecklist.pdf
www.ncld.org/content/view/327/456005/
www.ncld.org/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=317
I hope that these help, somewhat! I also hope that you and your son take care ;.)

Snickey, thank you very much, I really appreciate it since it is something I have been strugling with. I'm trying to help my son, I even bought hooked on phonics. It worked a little bit since he is now at a 1st grade level of reading. I have notice though that we needed to take a break since he was starting toget frustrated. Thank you, Thank you. May God bless you.
