Drama Queens Among Our Friends

Come on now, admit it, most of us have at least one drama queen in our circle of friends and family. I personally have two. My best friend of many years is the ultimate drama queen. I love her dearly, but she really plays the part to the hilt. I have to also admit that one of my daughters is a true drama queen. With her, everything is all about the drama. Most of the time I can deal with them, but sometimes it does get to be a little tiresome. What about you? Do you have any drama queens in your life? Are you a drama queen yourself?

My four year old granddaughter seems to be learning the role rather well, I hate to admit...lol. But you are correct, some adults have to play every life instance as a major drama or event.

Yes, sigma, because the two in my life sometimes make me want to disconnect my phone for a few days just so I can catch a break, LOL.

I know many people who are drama queens. I am too layed back for drama. I usually listen as the act unfolds and roll my eyes when they aren't looking. It is at that point that I look for a quick exit.

That's me, Elusive, I am not easily ruffled. I tend to take most things in stride. As you say, we can always beat a hasty retreat when things get a little too hairy.

Yep, got a good one, my daughter is the Queen of all Drama Queens, she drives me CRAZY, the best one was when she got pregnant with my granddaughter, she called me up, I was in living very far away from her at the time, she was crying and told me how much he hated her brand new husband, how she kicked him out of the house and was never going to see him again and that she was pregnant and was going to raise her baby all by herself and that she didn't need anyone to help her. I was devatrated needless to say, and being so far away from her I couldn't find out what was going on. We talked a long time, I told her to think all her options and to call me in the morning, the morning came, no phone call, I finally got a hold of her around noon that day, when I asked her if she had thought about what I had told her she acted stunned and then commented that they had gotten back together and everything was fine. Not to mention the lack of sleep I didn't get the night before worrying about her. My precious daughter, she drives me CRAZY!

How true, texas. My daughter continually goes from one drama to the next, and my friend thinks that people are always out to get her. She has been kicked out of restaurants for her bad behavior. I would never dare to act up like this.

When I talk to a friend of mine (we only catch up every couple of months or so) and he asks me what's up sometimes I do point out all the crazy things that have been happening to me since last time we talked. I think it's because we have been so close over the years, and we're more than just "everythings okay, how are you?" conversationalists, and the fact I think of him as an elder brother. So, if I acted that way with everyone else, I guess I could be called a drama queen.

Well, urbangirl, I do think that life would be a little bit dull if we didn't have at least one drama queen in them. It does make things interesting sometimes, LOL.

Yes, naty, I know exactly what you mean. They take everything so seriously and act as though the world will end if things don't go their way.

Oh yeah I have run into a few of them. I seem to be one of those people that everyone wants to tell their life story to, even perfect strangers. So I tend to get an ear full more than I care to talk about. And the funny thing is that most drama queens look for someone the total opposite to unload their drama on. Sometimes its so far fetched that you are like "do what?". After a while you figure out that every situation will turn to drama. I usually handle this by letting the first 2 calls go to voicemail, but the time I return the call they have found someone else to unload on and usually it ranks it at about a 5 on the drama scale as opposed to the 10 that it would have been if I would have taken the call. I've learned to deal with someone else's drama on my own terms.

with my friends we try not to engage in drama but i do know people that are like that. most of them are boys. They always want to fight somebody over something stupid. There's this one girl named Ashley thats always putting somebody elses name in stuff. Most of the attention due to drama queens is surrounded by girls who seek attention.
