do you let your kids watch the simpsons. do you find it inapropriate. i like the simpsons and i let my daughter watch it with me. she's 4. some people tell me not to let her watch it. i don't find it as bad as some shows. some language i don't agree with but she knows not to repeat it. but i don't find it any worse than some of the new cartoons that have come out lately. the new disney movies sometimes have worse language and gestures in it.

I let my children watch the Simpsons. I see nothing wrong with it. When I have been told not to let my children watch something my respones always is I have taught my children that what comes on tv is not real and they know the difference between real life and a cartoon. They have also been taught how to behave in public. The end of my response is by the way they are my kids not yours.

my daughter is four also and she watches it. like you said, sometimes there are some bad words, but she knows better. i agree that its not as bad as other cartoons. like family guy. i love family guy, but they have a good many episodes that are really not too good for younger kids.

Mom used to hate it when I'd watch The Simpsons, as a child. She was worried it would be a "bad influence." I was never one to be influenced by anyone besides my own ideas. I'm glad that you and your daughter are watching it TOGETHER. That way you are there to answer questions should she ask, and correct any poor behaviour that may (or may not) result.

Oh my kids watched it and other show that people say are no good and ones that they say harm the kids and my boys turned out just great. It is just a show and she will learn the difference from real and fake. I think that parents that shield kids from this kind of stuff are the ones that have their hands full when their kids get older and they learn how things really are. let her watch it she will be fine.

Well when I was a kid my mother never let me watch that show but after watching the earlier seasons there actually okay to watch theres not really anythingg bad about that show except well an ocasional choke from homer to bart I mean the show isnt really that violent and has no swears so if I had kids I would certinally let them watch it if they liked the shoe.

My cousins, my brother, and I have been watching The Simpsons since we were say 5 years of age, so roughly about 18 years, which is as long as the show has been on the air. It can be very funny at times, but it can also be a little crude at times. Anything with Comic Book Guy in the episode is usually funny.

If a now ex president is against them.....it must be good lol. I love the Simpsons and have everyone of them on tape from the very first show.
As for letting a child watch them, a 4 year old might pick up some language and might start chocking their friends but other then that it's not bad. Just let them know it's like any other cartoon and don't try it home.

To be honest I don't think The Simpsons is any worse than any number of other shows on television. Shrek is supposed to be a kids movie but some of the dialogue in that is very adult.

Hm I like the simpsons but usually they dont care to watch it with me. Last weekend my 5 yo saw it with me and I didnt see a problem with it. The stuff on cartoon network is way worse. Like ed edd and eddy..yuck! I know that the simpsons show some gross stuff but my boys know not to take it seriously and there is alot worse to be watching!

I don't have a kid yet, but I would certainly let him see the show. It is funny, witty. Kids are not as influential as one would think. However I think it is better to watch it with the kid so as to explain certain things and put them back into context.

My mother doesn't approve of my niece and I watching the Simpson's because of the language. Also the Simpson's has violence and actions that are not supposed to be watched by four year olds. Disney movies are childhood favorites. Why would the creators make a movie or cartoon that wouldn't fly right with parents? Thats just as dumb as putting water in a car and expecting it to work. Even though you say your daughter knows not to say those words or do those things how do you know? Are you with her 24/7? Do you know her every move? How are you so sure? like the saying says its better to be safe than sorry. So I do find it inappropriate and I would not let my kids watch that degradingly, sorry, waste of time excuse of a show.
But what do I know I am only 13yrs old.
Enjoy your day :)

everyone has to know whats best for the own children.

simpsons were made for "grown ups" when they started..

everyone has to know by himself or herself whats best for the own children..
