I didn't think that bamboo was strong and bendable enough to be used as a bow.

I used to shoot a 35pound bow but unfortunately old age put an end to that. The other day on The History Channel there was a program about Henry the 5Th He was one of the greatest Kings England ever had. He knew that fighting the French the way they did at that time was not going to help him win so he fought his own way and won. His secret weapon was his Archers. English boys started learning to use the long bow at the age of seven. When he fought the French they were laughing at him and his archers. Up till then the archers were the first ones killed and the first to run. I can not give this subject the respect it deserves in this small space so if you really want to know about Archery go the the History channel and see if they are going to repeat the program or if you can buy it. Its called The Warriors and any one thats ever picked up a bow will find this program fascinating. Henry the 5Th is the King Shakespeare wrote the speach Band of Brothers. We know it as St. Crispin's day.

I have just a basic Genesis bow with a site. I just started learning earlier this year so I just got the type of bow I learned on as I was comfortable with it. I practice down in my basement and once in a while I go to the archery range where my instructor works but I'm kind of uncomfortable there as it's all men who can shoot really good and very far. I feel out of place there and it's about an hour away from my house.
