7 days from now and I will be in Riyadh with my parents. I will be staying there for a year before I came back to Manila. I will be holding a residence visa and If I will get lucky I will also find a job that will suits me. Hopefully, there is a good future waiting for me in Riyadh, I mean financially. I have been in Riyadh 7 years ago so I have no idea what it looks like now and what are the changes. Hope to I can cope up with the changes really fast. Goodluck to me!!

hello mae :-). good luck on your upcoming trip. i think you are lucky because you will be staying with your parents. that means you will have an easy time adjusting to the different culture. what kind of job are you hoping to find in riyadh? Anyway, you can visit the POEA website as there are articles there about the things you should kno about your country of destination. here is the link : http:www.poea.gov.ph hope you find it useful.

Thanks miss honey! Are you in Saudi now? Actually, I don't know if I am lucky living with my parents in Riyadh since they are really strict and KJ means I will only stay in the house unless it is supermarket day! Too boring compare to my life now. But I have to sacrifice since I really want to find a better job. I am a graduate of engineering but I think engineering women are not allowed to work in that field so I will try other opportunities. What ever is the best for me I will get it.

I remember when I was in Saudi Arabia back in 1993; I saw a lot of Filipinos, Africans and folks from India; Interesting. Although a lot of Filipinos are there, it is pretty restrictive to me and I would bare that in mind when you do go there.

Oh yes! There are lots of Filipinos in Saudi. Even though I still fear that I might not be able to adjust with their culture.

i worked in saudi arabia particularly in jeddah for 5 years. i have seen riyadh when our plane made a stop over there for several hours while catching a connecting flight to jeddah. riyadh airport is one the best airports i have ever seen. it was truly amazing place. but what i knew riyadh is stricter than jeddah because the king lives or stays there most of the time. but both cities and all parts of saudi are under the shariah laws which are really very much conservatively implemented. i think i can't stay more years in saudi because of their culture and traditions. hopefully your stay in riyadh will be a fruitful one. masalama my friend (good bye)

Thanks! Yes I am aware of the rules in saudi since I have been there several times when I am younger. But it is different now since, now,I will try to find a job for me. Hoping that I can make better money compare here in Manila. Thanks!

I'm not dissing your home land (it is saudi arabia thatis your origianl home?), but remember this much, there you will not be permitted to drive or vote because you are a woman. In addition to many other freedoms you now enjoy in the Philipines. I wish you the bestof luck and think its awsome you get to see your parents again. Enjoy your trip and be safe.

No, I am from Manila but my dad is working in Riyadh. Yeah, I know the limitations in Saudi especially for a women and I am willing to sacrifice since the only reason I would like to go back there is to find a job that will satisfies me, financially.
