Cyber beg?

What do you all think about these cyber beg websites? For those of you who aren't familiar they are websites where people go on there telling their sob stories and beg people for money. And the crazy part is that people have actually gotten rich off of these websites. Do you think it is right for people to just go around the internet begging for money? And what about the people that actually give them money? Would you give money to a cyber beggar?

I feel the same way as the person who posted above me...I don't know who is legit or not. Shoot! If people are doing all of this cyber begging, let me start a site! I am a certified broke graduate student and I have the bills to show as proof! LOL Can somebody PLEASE pay back some of my loans??? (yeah right...lol)

LOL LOL...I think I have you beat with these loans. I am about to hit 6 figures in a few! That's what being out of state will do to you. Well, I was covered for undergrad with scholarships and grants. I got ZIP for grad school funding! That makes my grad exerience that much worse...I'm sick of school! This biomedical engineering degree better earn me some profits once I graduate!

Student loans are awful. That's why I quit going to school because I started seeing how fast my loans were adding up and started getting freaked out about not being able to get a good job to pay them off once I get out of school.

I think if someone wants to beg for money, go for it. And I also think if someone wants to give them money, go for it. It's just like begging on the street. It's a cyber street.

This is not going to be a long response. I think these people are worse than street beggars and I think that anyone who gives them money is an idiot. I am not an idiot so my answer is never, never, never.

I have never heard of this and it shocks me...In both ways, as in. Why would people do this its only setting themselves for something bad to happen to them, there is too many creeps out there, but they cant afford anything why have they got a computer...and the other is why would people even contemplate to gve these people money, I know that there is a lot of kind hearted people, but thats going to extremes. I know that I would never do that.

I hate to point this out, because I don't know people's legitimate circumstances, but we have a few of these here. I've run across a couple of their discussions basically asking for money. I never know who is really telling the truth.

I've never personally seen anything like that on MyLot. But it really doesn't suprise me.

Cyber begging.... Well I have visted a site that was for that. I thought it might be nice to help someone out. I mean I'm not the richest person but I know how an extra $40.00 can really really help out when you need it. The way I figure no one would be begging online unless they really needed it. well.... most of the people didn't want $40.00 They all wanted like $5000!!!!! So I thought well if I offer them $40.00 they would laugh at me or feel insulted. Also some of the stories just didn't seem legit as others here have posted. So I kep tmy money in my pocket and ended up bying some raffle tickets on something (I foget what) from the local women's auxillery. I do know a few people that have gone on those sites who really DID need money but I don't think they got any money at all... There are loan sites out there. There is one that is USA ONLY but it is legit and sounds good. its www.propser.com Basically people ut up a profile and ask for money BUT the catch is it is a LOAN. So let's say I needed (for example) $5000 I might end up having 100 people offer me money of various amounts until I have reached my $5000 goal. Then I have 3 years to pay them back in monthly payments with a I do believe 35% interest rate. That is scarey but there are people out there that can't get a loan from a bank. I think that when I get a bit of extra money in paypal I'm going to become a loaner on there because well hoenstly at 35% I can make money. AND the website guarantees the money pay back because the person goes through an extensive check and has to provide ID and info and bank records employement junk etc... It's all very legit but instead of getting a loan from a bank people are getting and giving loans personally. It's I think a concept better than cyber beg because then people get to keep their pride.

I didn't visit even by luck a cyber beg website. Now I'm lucky or not I don't know lol: I don't like see people begging and certainly try beg people from net for they give you money........I'm against these. I don't understand those people that give to them money. If they have money and want help people is very good but they can make it with different ways. After all they are so many poor people around us that need help.Is more safe way.

I don't think it's right, but as long as they can get away with it, this sort of thing will probably continue. I don't believe I would ever give money to a cyber beggar, but who knows, if they have a good story, I might fall for it. Once in Columbus across from Ohio State, my husband and I and our two sons were doing a little tour, looking at the stores and things there. There were a lot of panhandlers there, probably college kids looking for a little spending money. One kid came up and offered to play us a song for money. He had a harmonica, so we said, alright, lets see what you can do. He played Iron Man from Black Sabbath. He was so good on the Harmonica we gave him a couple of bucks. Iron Man was always one of my husband's favorite songs, it was just so funny it seemed the kid picked just the right song.

The term is called 'E-begging', just to let you know. :] Anyway, I don't like it and won't ever give my money to a e-begger because if they have access to the internet they can't be that bad off. And to the people that give them money, well it's their pwn choice because it's their money to give it a e-begger if they want. A 'Youtube celebrity' actually E-begged, quite weird, it was sxephil just in case you were wondering.

I personally don't like it and won't give them any money. The people that give them money, well it's their own choice, it's their money to do what they will with it. I mean they can't be that bad off since they can afford access to the interent. I seen 'Youtube celebrities' beg for money such as Sxephil.
