Lately, I have come to notice that my three sons,
my wife and even myself seemed to have forgoten
our softdrink drinking habits. Instead of softdrinks they
now tend to drink cold water instead. I cannot seem to
understand why, but it is a welcome development.
In your family would you also welcome this kind of
a situation?

I totally agree! Not drinking a soda, is a commitment for someone who used to drink it. For me.. its a realization. Like my comment below.. its a extra 100 calories, that I really don't need.

Of course you should welcome such development..
Its for your family especially for your sOns..
I can understand that because same thing happened to me.. I was then very fond of drinking softdrinks/soda
But then lately i found myself always craving for a cold water.. I loved the way water refreshed me..
and Its like I am starting to hate softdrinks..
:-) congrats to us!

Yes I try to not have soft drinks in our home, mostly water or juice. Now and then when we dine out I let my son have sprite and juice but most of the time its water juice or sometimes snapps ice tea in the fridge.

Oh, that kind of change would be very welcome. Currently I live with my parents, sister, brother, and my brother's wife.. and they all drink soda except my brother. I have cold turkey dropped drinking sodas for a long time, but I do allow myself to have a pepsi when I either have pizza, which isn't often, or when I would like one when we go out to dinner or something, which also isn't often, but I usually get tea, or water when out.
My sister keeps making excuses of why she should drink sprite instead of pepsi, cause she used to drink pepsi, but she can't now, because of caffine, or something health related. She wants in her mind to stop drink pepsi, when to me it'd be easier to drop the whole soda drinking, because either way.. shes still drinking it. She wants to stop.. but its she won't.
I had surgry recently to get my appendix removed... and for awhile I wasn't able to do much, and didn't care if I had a soda, but today, I decided to stop again. I consider soft drinks a extra 100+ calories i'm probably not going to burn, so why drink it. . I usually sit at the computer all day.. so why add that extra amount..

BtheKittySim, my friend. Thanks for responding. Its good you are not a softdrink lover. My three boys were
Coke drinkers but now I came to note that their love
for drinking softdrinks have wanned and they now go
for cold water instead. Maybe they are just trying to
save more for something.

I had been a non drinker of softdrinks for several years now. I am given to drinking water instead of softdrinks. My wife used to go for pepsi while my
boys are coke drinkers. Now all of them drinks cold
water instead of ice cold softdrinks. Sweetmom, I appreciate your sharing.

Yes, sometimes it would be a relief. My husband likes to drink soft drinks and he will drink it once a week. At one time he will drink a large bottle of 1.5 litre in one or two sitting. I am worried about this habit. I've been telling him to stop. Now he seems to reduce his habit. He only buys from a can and no longer a big bottle. That's an improvement which I would very much welcome.

I never liked the soda drinks much anyway. But my husband used to drink lots of coca cola before our daughter was born. After she was born however,he reduced it and now it is completely gone. That is mainly because my daughter now asks for coke whenever she sees us drink coke.I donot want het to get habituated to coke at this young age(she is only 3).But I do welcome the change. All my efforts to get him to reduce his amounts of coke had failed but my daughter came along and he got rid of the habit which is very good for me.I am more concerned as his family has a history of diabetes and we need to be careful too.
