Ratings...what's up with that?

I don't know what on earth I could have said to make someone upset, but I have to admit, I am really disappointed and hurt that my ratings went down all in one day.
I just can't understand why people use the "-" button for no reason...I make sure to give everyone a "+" for a good attempt at a reply, and I also try my best to be polite and helpful.
Anyone know what's going on here? I know it doesn't effect my earnings, but still, it's a bit hurtful!

Everyone in this day in age has something negative to say to people nowadays. To me that is not a good impression at all. I hope we all don't fall into this black hole. I hope you try to do the best in having confidence and staying positive. I am hoping to find confidence and staying positive as well.

I'm sorry for your decrease in rating. I hope you get it back soon.
Could it be that some members who did rate you got deleted of their membership from Mylot? Or that their discussions got deleted? And those factors affected your rating? Not sure, still learning about this myself.

I'm really not sure, but I don't think so.
I try to stay away from the more contraversial topics for this very reason(and the fact that if they are deleted we get docked money!lol!)

hey, cheer up. don't worry too much about your ratings. you are still on the brink of 9 and 10 stars. i'm assuming that you have 10 stars before.
my personal theory is that, decrease in stars may not necessarily be caused by negative ratings... it could be caused by non-ratings. if most mylot users you've responded to do not rate your posts, it's likely the reason why your 10 became a 9.
don't worry, if my calculations are correct, you only need 5-8 posts which are rated positive (+) to bring you back to a 10 star rating. goodluck! :)

Thank you for cheering me up a bit.
I would never have thought I would be the type to be disapointed with a star rating going down, I guess this just shows me once more to never say never!LOL!

several mylot users experience the same fluctuations on mylot reputation or star rating. i experience the same. at first, i got disappointed too... felt bad even. that's why i always watch it since i had a 10. so much pressure. :)
