Death penalty Pro or Con?

My daughter and I were talking the other day about a man in our area that was arrested because of a hit and run he had over 2 years ago. I admit I am not big on the death penalty but this case made me so upset. My daughter is totally against it so our discussion started. In my opinion the man left the young girl there to die. He did not stop to see if she was ok nor did he stand up and say hey I screwed up I was drinking and driving and hit the girl. To me after 2 years he had plenty of chances and must not have any remorse for what he did and in this case to me deserves to be tried for murder with the death penalty. Of course my daughter disagrees. Maybe I am judging too hard but as a mother I would want someone to at least show some sort of sorry for killing my daughter. What are your thoughts?

Many of us want justice to be fair. like the saying goes... an eye for an eye or a tooth for a tooth. Being a christian, life is not to be taken away. it is in God's hand to do so. Fate has its own course. We cant avoid it nor control . The worst punishment in my opinion can be double life imprisonment and he/she should pay a sort of damage fee. That I think in God's eye will be a better justice.
