When the final Harry Potter book comes out, how will you avoid being "Spolied"?

When Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is finally out, I absolutely want to find out how the book ends for myself. However I know there is always some person out there who will finish the book before me and want to broadcast to everyone how it ends...perhaps by posting "spoilers" on the net, or even coming up to you at the subway station while you are reading (Ihave had this happen to a freind while reading Book 6).
I thin I might be avoiding the internet and any news programs on TV that I think might ruin the ending for me. I think this definately includes staying off of myLot until I am done reading.
How do you plan to keep from being "spoiled" while you finish reading the final HP book?

I'll probably end up staying up all night when I pick it up at midnite on the 21st, so I probably won't even turn the tv or computer on until I finish it.

Yes, I am definitely avoiding searching Harry Potter online, though I still visit www.muggle-net.com because they have promised not to post any spoilers. But I'm not watching the news or searching anything online. I plan to find out for myself what happens tonight at 12:01am when I pick up my copy! I will spend all night and all day tomorrow reading, and I probably won't get online or watch tv until I finish it, because as soon as it's released, I know spoilers will be even worse.

Heh, *awkward smile*
That's why, since I've readthe last book I warn people before I say anything. "If you don't want spoilers, stop reading my post now"..beause I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but I do want to satisfy te curiousity of those who DO want to know..because I know what it's like to adore a book series and feel like you're dying to know how it ends.
Really, spoilers make me feel like I want to readte book even more..though it helps tide me over til I CAN finish the series.

It is going to be very hard not to be spoiled. This is especially true for me because I have a birthday party to go to that weekend and won't have time for reading. My plan is to avoid as much media as I can until I finish the book. This means no tv, radio, and probably no myLot. You can ask people to put spoiler warnings on their messages until you're face turns blue, but you know there are going to be people out there who don't care about ruining it for you.
Thankfully, the books are a pretty quick read. So hopefully you'll be able to get through it before you hear anything you don't want to. Good luck!

I agree. I'll be going into a self imposed "media cocoon!

Short of reading it on Saturday night, or locking myself in solitary confinement with no media access, there's no way that I can avoid hearing how it ends and other spoilers. And I probably won't read it for at least a week or two. However, I don't really mind that much about specifics, such as who will die. For me, the books have been enjoyable for much more than the specific details of the plot.

I personally think that once I get the book, I wouldn't be doing anything else except reading it Lol. But, if I do come across headlines about the book when I'm checking mails, I'm going to ignore them till I finish reading. Even in Mylot, the HP section will be avoided. Other discussions are quite harmless(why am I saying this... I will have to be reading, of course!). And I've realised I could have been a spoiler myself after reading your discussion. So, I have made up my mind not to say or discuss anything about the book except maybe an overall view in a discussion so that I won't be ruining it for the others. Thanks for that tip anyway.

I'll probably try to read it in one day but if someone tells me how it ends it won't be a big deal to me.

I will personally probably not put the book down until I finish it. That is what happened with the other books. But for those that just have to spoil. I would carry a nice card that you hand out. If you spoil this end for me I will punch you in the nose. Thank you. (LOL) This will usually give you a chance to move or they will leave you alone. Either way works. As for the net just be a little more cautious. Anything that looks like it might spoil the end go to another area at that time. Although why you would be on the net if you could be reading is beyond me. You know.

I'll just read it non stop, and ignore the outside world.
Either that, or just turn to the back first and read it that way!
