I just completed reading a book about financial independance called Rich Dad Poor Dad and became accutely aware of the fact that
in the richest nation in the world ,we never teach our children about money!
They aren't taught in the class room and aren't really taught at home .
All we ever say is get a good education so you can get a good J O B
(just over broke):(
I suspect it has to do with the fact that we as parents never really learned anything about money or learned how to become truly independant financially;Forever chaseing a dollar, throwing it away on trivial consumer products rather than investing in real estate or the stock market as we should .
What are your thoughts on the subject?
Are you teaching your kids how to beat the rat race and providing them with the education they need for financial independance?

i started teaching my children about where money goes. we sit down at the desk and i show them step by step about hourly wages, what i bring home, and what goes out. they are amazing at understanding the dynamics of finance at a early age if taught. they also are given chores to do to earn money and they are encouraged to save a% of there earnings. i think as parents we should look for what our children are really good at, passionate about, and encourage them in that direction. what do you think? i just meet an eye surgeon that is in absolute love with his work, passionate about his work. imagine if your doing what you always dreamt of doing wouldn't your sucess be much higher?
