I have a Belkin wireless router that I use for my home network. You basically just load the software, plug in the router and you are ready to go. It cost me about $40 from Wal-Mart and has a range of 400 feet which is plenty for me. I have the router in the top level of the house and I can use my laptop in the basement and still have a pretty decent signal. I've also had a Linksys router and it was a nightmare to set up and never worked all that well for me plus it was way more expensive...I'd say go with the Belkin.

If you want some more advanced wireless router, then you can go for MikroTik's RouterBoard with RouterOS on it. It costs more but you have lot of features that maybe could be useful for you. Also I think in India MikoTik has distributors. You can visit the MikroTik site and check out: www.mikrotik.com
