Hey when I was a fresh social worker, I came into the world thinking that I was going to change the world. Boy did the world knock me in my face!
After a while and after having a child, my world changed as did my priorities. I became a more spiritual person, (believe me when my daughter would get sick and I had no idea what to do for her I had to learn to pray.
Now that I feel that I have more experience life wise as well as professionally, so when I see young social workers coming in making life decisions for people it upsets me.
Do you think that maybe social workers should have an apprenticeship or something? Have you been on the wrong end of a social worker, LOL? What are your thoughts about social workers?

It cant be an easy profession to encounter. No doubt you must feel at first that you have to provide a solution to every problem. I can only imagine that often the best you can do is help people cope with their circumstances and maybe improve them a little. In our country social workers seem to get a lot of blame if and when the worst happens. They should have seen things coming or have been more aware. I dont think that is fair and often they are used as a scape goat. You have got to care about people to take the challenge on in the first instance.
