does drinking warm milk before bedtime get u to sleep?

There is a theory that drinking warm milk before going to sleep helps ue to sleep better. Is it really true? I do this everyday...but to no effect :(((((

It's supposed to do with an enzyme called tryptophane(spelling?) that is supposed to make you sleepy. Lots of different foods have that enzyme in it as well such as turkey, cheese, and bananas. None of those foods have ever make me feel sleepy so I guess it's just different for everyone.
