My mother used to say that when I was in schooldays, I used to kick people who sleep to my right or left. That was the effect of dream - may be bad dream. My young son puts his leg on a chair in the middle of night and keeps murmuring.

I never have done that, but there was a couple I knew for awhile about ten years ago, who had that problem. He would dream in his sleep and use his wife as whatever his dream was about. For example, he once dreamed he was eating a hamburger and without even waking up, he reached over, picked up his wife's arm, and bit the fire out of it. She had a huge bruise on her arm for weeks! I'm not too suprised they eventually got divorced.
