File transfer from XP to Vista

I have a little issue I'm sure you guys can help me with I ha a old pc with xp and Ianother new one with vista, there's files on My old one that I want to access from my new computer, what do I have to do ? Both pcs are connected by cables on the same router for internet connection Thanks in advance
