Hi, my understanding of the movie is that it's not just about computerized robots taking over the world and enslaving humanity as living battery cells.
For me it has a far deeper meaning.
The Matrix is the universal mind of God, in which we all exist, as both a part of that mind and as individual entities.
We have the power within us to actually change the very fabric of space and time, pretty much in the same way that those who where strong enough could influence the happenings inside the Matrix. Neo was the one who had the strongest will power and so he was regarded as the "messiah".
So I guess I'd have to say that the Matrix is all about a Universal truth, but hidden behind a sci-fi movie

I thought that the first Matrix movie was a great idea, but the second and third installments were totally unnecessary and boring. I saw all three at the movie theater, but I only own the original Matrix movie.

I have seen all three movies and each is brilliant for the things they show us. The films should cause people to think seriously about the world we live in. Those who view the trilogy as merely fictional should seriously delve deeper to discover how much is based in fact. The films have deep spiritual undertones showing that we are all part of the one. Every living thing is part of the one and originates from the source. The world we know is controlled by those who govern us through fear, keeping us all plugged into the mainframe to prevent us from discovering the truth and ultimately gaining our freedom. The truth and realities we believe are merely the things we are intended to see to make us think and act in a certain pre planned way. I would strongly advise reading the works of author David Icke to anyone who is interested in gaining vital information about things occurring all around us under our noses. To anyone who does read such works, I guarantee you will believe the matrix is more factul than fictional.

yes i have seen all of three parts of this movie. but i dont think its all about story of taking controll computer to human beings....
i think its indicating the relation between human and the name of god. some place in "Veda" describe it briefly...
and the director of this picture inspired from "Veda" .
So you should start conversation on that topic too...

Yeahp! I have seen the movie a couple of times already. When I saw the first movie, I was really fascinated by it! Really cool effects!! Love it!! I also watched the second and third.^_^ The concept of the Matrix is really amazing. It is very philosophical. It actually helped me on my term paper in philosophy ahehehe. I love the concept of the movie. When you watch the Animatrix, there you'll understand better how the computers were able to gain power over the humans and some principles and philosophies in life that we can also apply in ourselves. Ahehe.. Love the movie! One of my all-time faves..^_^

The first Matrix movie is one of my all time favourite films. The second part was slightly disappointing and the final part of the trilogy was a dreadful disappointment.
The concept of the MATRIX is fascinating and complex and will no doubt be the topic of many a philosophical debate for many decades to come.

The consept of the Matrix is really is fresh and original. The main idea is to find the thruth at any cost. The truth about ourselves and about our life.
The main character ask himsefl an other general question. I'm I the one or I'm not the one. This is the story about believe in your self.
