Lemon is not only good to the skin, but also to the throat. When I have a sore throat, I love to put a slice of lemon in the drinking water. I love the flavor very much.

I suppose as long as they are not iron bassed highlights it could work. If you want to lighten your hair lemon juice does work as you wet your hair and leave it in for a bit before washing it normally it works best with light hair, blond or light brown.
If your have very dry hair though it will dry it further. It works very well on oily hair to dry it out.

Lemon juice acts like bleach when you put it on your hair or skin. It'll dry your hair out quickly, and strips your hair of color. If you want highlights, get them professionally done, or do it at home with a kit, but make sure you condition and moisturize your hair extremely well. I can't think of any reason for putting lemon (an acidic substance) on your face, but if you must, wash when you're finished and moisturize like crazy.

I know someone who uses lemon juice to color her hair like light brown. But for me, it's really not good for the hair. Putting a fresh lemon juice to our hair looses it's natural oil and color. It also causes our hair to be more weak and can easily get damage.

In America we have this product called "Sun in" It's used to highlight hair naturally. They have one that's Lemon and it uses real lemon juice to bring out your natural highlights.
I don't know if lemon juice is good for highlighted hair... but it is good to use if you're going to be out in the sun for a long time and you want to naturally lighten and highlight your hair.

I know that lemon juice is used for removing stains from clothes and bleaching so I don't think it will be good for highlighted hair, it will remove that colour also.
