Have you ever forgotten to "ATTACH" the picture or file?

Well, after writing a long note about some picture or photograph or file, and then you end up e-mailing it without attaching the file or photo.
Like lots of times, I'm forwarding my resume, and I write a note "here's my resume, hope to work with you" and then voila, no resume!
Or you send pictures of your trip to your best friend describing each and every shot in a long e-mail, and then well, attaching the photos slips your mind, and all you've done is ranted in a very long e-mail.
After a punishing feeling of a little bit of dumbness and stupidity, it's better if you come to your senses and realize on your own that you've "forgotten" to add the main part. Or you might end up with this replying e-mail from whoever it was you sent it to.. "Um.. Where is it?"
Has this happened to you before.
It happened to me yesterday. I was writing an e-mail to my friend Mike and told him about some of my paintings, two of them. I carefully described both, and then sent the e-mail without even attaching the pictures, I realized in the evening, yesterday, and this morning the first thing I did was correct my mistake and send the pictures, before I get that "where is it?" e-mail.
I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to...
So have you ever forgotten to attach the all too important file or photo?
When was the last time this happened?

Nope i always take care to get the process right so that i avoid any shortcomings. But people have done this to me.I once asked my friend to scan a few pages of his text book 'cause we had exam the next day.Unfortunately he sent me an email but had forgotten to attach what i had asked him to.
A little heads up for those who are used to this little habit which one might not feel so proud. The technique is to first attach the file and then type the message. That way the job would be done right.

Sure!
I have, on more times than I can count - and I am already a very careful person. But the good thing is that it almost never (or never) happen anymore.
If you are using gmail and firefox, you can install the gmail reminder attachment greasemonkey script.
They will search for keywords to see if you intend an attachment. If I want to attach something, I will put down e.g. "Please see attached" there and then if I did not do the attaching right away. This way, in case I came back to the email and forget to attach my file, the script will prompt me to attach. :)

Hi vega83, I am professional accountant. Therefore, whenever I complete the accounts I used to forward the same for modifications and corrections. I generally very careful in sending all the papers through email. Due to vast connection people used to send the accounts information through email and I do their accounts at my home and email them. Till day before yesterday, I never failed to attach the papers but yesterday, after giving all the details of accounts in writing, without attaching the accounts papers, I emailed them. I realised the mistake after one hour. In the meantime, I got reply from that person, no attachment found. Please resend them. Anyhow, I resend the same.

i have done the same quite umber of times before. its not just about photos but also files. in my former office, im required to send reports and files on a weekly and monthly basis. since there's quite a number of it, sometimes i get confused with which files and reports that i need to send and sometimes i get it all mixed up or just that - i forget to attach them. so i have to send anonther email apologizing to the bosses and sending the reports, and then sometimes i get to send the wrong reports and i have to apologize again for that. good that im no longer working there and right now my job doesnt require the same emailing of reports from me.

Well, i dont do like that, but on one or two times i have sent my emails to the wrong persons. Using the address stored in the address book, i used to insert the addresses, sometimes i check the the mail id of the one above or below the person to whom i am to send my mail.

I work as I team leader and I am handling a team of 14 people. It's my daily job to send reports and other important analysis to my manager and client. So, it creates a very bad impression if I forgot to attach file. I had done it once but, next moment I came to know that attachment is missing. So, within two minutes I resent the mail with attachment and apology. Now, I doesn't happen with me. I always first attach and then write mail and send it.

Oooh, that's really freakin me up when my boss questions about my "lost attachment". So i just said "sorry boss, its not lost, but my mind..." And it was repeated a couple of times and that made so stupid to have it again.
And so this time, i just realized that to avoid such a kind of incident, i will do the attachment first before i go writing even a long message.
And well, its effective and the way it beats me no more.

yeah i did, once i sent an article I wrote to my brother for review, you know, I asked him to proof read it, check for any mistakes and stuff, then he emailed me back and said 'what article?' hehehehe
And another time i supposed to have sent a friend pictures from our recent outing and she called me up and said that I looked really good and sexy, she said that I was so thin... I double taked and said are you sure you called the right number, yeah she said, you sent me the email with pics right? I said yes, then why do you say I'm thin? She laughed out loud and said to me, you're so thin I cant see you and burst our laughing again, she asked me to check my email to her and that's when i realized that I wasn't able to attach the pics. hehehehe

You know whats horrible? When you apply for a job online and forget the resume. At least once this happened to me maybe twice. I was like OH MY GOSH! And then SORRY and had to send it again. It sucks. Thats a horrible way to make an impression. Ugh. Jobs didnt work out but still... thats horrible and its embarrassing too :((

I usually blame it on being interrupted which happens a lot round here. The latest was asking mylot admin about why a member had been blocked and I forgot to include the username!! Duh. I just tried to start a group in Apsense but it would not load the picture and deleted the whole lot so I will have to do it all over again! *@#@*

his used to happen to me all the time at my old job! My boss would have me send his E-mail, and often ask me to include an attachment. The problem was, however, he would sometimes ask me to do this a good half hour or more before I was ready to send the E-mail, so it would slip my mind. Normally, though, the people he was sending things to were understanding, and would send a message asking about the attachment if I hadn't sent it either on the first E-mail or as a second E-mail.
adn again
I just did that last week, I was sending my girls pics to my uncle and wrote a sweet letter and pointed a few things in the photo, then sent it without the pic. DUH! When he wrote me back asking about the picture, I just told him it was taken during a snow storm outside while they were in their white coats, couldn't he see that? Ha Ha

Hey amita, I'm not sure scary white girl or sunshine cup would appreciate you copying and pasting her response, even if the exact same thing happened to you. Please don't do that again in any of my discussions.
This forum or any of my discussions are not for spamming.

I hated doing that when I was working - its embarrasing when sending out training materials and emails and not attaching the documents for management or senior staff, makes me look incompetent LOL

I will go through the pains of writing a long response or something on my Myspace to a friend, but forget to add a title. Without the title it won't post. Then all I wrote is gone and lost forever. You find yourself trying to remember just what in the heck you said. Sometimes things come out of you while writing, that unfortunately you can't get back. With a picture, at least you can correct it, I feel so bad when I lose my words !!

Oh, I hate it when that happens, and that happens a lot around the end of the month for me, because the internet speed is half then, and connections gets reset before the response is posted. That's so frustrating!
So, sometimes when I've written a huge response, I copy it, just in case..So I can paste it right back if something goes wrong.

This happens to me all the time, most recently on Monday. I have been trying to get in the habit of attaching files before I even start writing the body of the e-mail. Luckily most of my clients are good-natured about it because it has happened to them too!
