Well that`s it ,its time to make tracks to new pastures! My wife and i and my 2 kids came back from holiday,to be confronted with another burglary, this is the 3rd burglary in 5 years only this time i thought before going on holiday,i would leave a message for the burglars,so i nailed a blackboard to the outside wall, proclaiming,"Don`t bother breaking in as all house contents have been put in storage"anyway as i said, they still broke in and stole the boiler, kitchen fittings ect... but what really got my "goat up" was on the blackboard they had wrote "Just Testing"and hope you had a nice holiday!Have you been ever been burglared?

Hi gilly123, You are really living in unfriendly neighbourhood. Since you say you have been living in the same house for more than 5 years you must have developed some good relationships with your neighbours. Your neighbours do not keep watch on your house, when you were gone on holiday. We, in India, when we go out for a week, we inform the neighbours to keep a watch on our house or flat. They generally do. Moreover, we, all the street people have two night guards to keep watch during night. The two night guards collect from every house @ Rs.20/- as his salary. People of your street should keep such a night guards, if necessary, day guards also. All should share the salary of the night and day guards so that it will not be easy for the burglare to burglare your house. I am feel sad the way the burglare burglared your house and also giving a writing "JUST TESTING" Burglares are really rascals.

So sorry this happened to you so many times. Well you can definitely tell it's someone who lives close by and can keep an eye on your house to know if you're home or not. As for the comments on the board, that's just really cold. I have had it happen to me too and I knew both times who it was but I couldn't do anything about it. The first time was when I was selling my dad's house. I stayed the night at my new house and when I got to the old house the next day I found that someone had broken in thru the basement door and stolen some change and my boombox off the dryer. It wasn't hard to figure out who it was because it was winter and about 2 inches of snow on the ground. All I had to do was follow the footprints in the snow from my basement right to their back door 2 doors down. It was their 13 yr old son. The second time was again while I was moving into a new house. I came home one day to find my entire aluminum 5'X 8' shed dismantled and gone, along with most of the contents. Also missing from the house were my 10 speed bicycle, my window air conditioner, my microwave oven and my 10 ft extendable ladder. Now this was in a trailer park, with neighbors so close you can hear what they're listening to on their radio, smell what they're cooking for supper. And NOBODY saw or heard a thing... yeah right! I know who did it, the neighbor right next door, but he denied everything and everyone else was too afraid of him to talk. It's such a huge invasion on your life. These people are just pathetic to have no regard whatsoever for their neighbors or anyone else for that matter. I would definitely either get out of that neighborhood or get a really good security alarm system. I'd personally set up a couple of hidden cameras and then tell everyone in the neighborhood that I was going to be gone for several days. Leave and when they come, you've got them red-handed with the cops and tape to back you up. Then throw their thieving behinds in jail for a very long time.
