Oh No!! (superstitous?)

I never used to be that superstitous until last October on Friday the 13th. That was when my dog got loose from the house and ended up getting killed. I know it really had nothing to do with the day but I can't get it out of my mind just yet. As for other superstitions, I don't really pay much attention to them. I have several black cats and they cross my path many times a day. Hmmmm, now I wonder....I do seem to have lots of bad luck.lol.

LOL-- I agree- I'm not one to believe thay anything bad will happen to me tomorrow- I also do not think black cats are spooky- I would not walk under a ladder at any time- that is just silly- Happy 12th- to you!

I've actually had more bad things happen on Saturday the 14th than on Friday the 13th. Two of my sons were born on the 13th of the month, both Mondays, and my oldest's 9th birthday is tomorrow. I'm expecting it to be a good day. I love black cats, they're my favorite. I have never experienced bad luck because of them. The only thing remotely bad is that the black cat I had disappeared when I was 10. All the other things don't really bother me. I don't think they're silly though. My opinion is that if you believe them then they will be true because you are looking for them to be true. If you don't believe them you won't be looking for any signs of them being true because you won't believe there will be any.

Thanks for reminding me! :) Actually, Thursday the 12th has always been bad luck for me. I don't think it's the Thursday part as much as the #12. It's never been my lucky number. And even with it being the 12, my unlucky day, things have been going pretty well for me. I've got a good start in cleaning out our basement, the dumpster came and didn't land on anything important, the kids have been pretty helpful today. The only thing that's keeping me down is my swollen, sore ankle. D@m gophers anyway!

I have always had really good luck on Friday the 13th....I need some good luck...the transmission just went out on my 2000 Oldsmobile Bravada...dreading that bill for sure...LOL I seem to gain good from the customary "bad luck" days and items.....don't let that tickle you too much!!!

Oh, come on. You remind me of my father who says he remembers the year when Christmas was on Friday, December 13th. Guys have to have courage and they are not to be spoky unless they are sailors. My mom says for her payday was always in the middle of the month and she often got paid on Friday 13th. She loves that date. Anyhow, I get my new washer delivered tomorrow and unless it is proven otherwise it will be a very nice new washing machine. Too bad that my payout from mylot didn`t cover the price. Happy mylotting.

Others are free to have whatever superstition or good luck charm that they want, I do not. I do not look down on them, if they do not try to force it on me. I am more into the Monday thing, bad things happen on Mondays, you do not want things manufactured on Mondays, etc. but that opinion is based in some fact. Many people go out and drink or party heavily all weekend. Their work on Monday is often inferior. They also are hung over or over tired and so are less careful than they should be. I think I make my own "luck" by being prepared, and by being positive about things, and speaking positively to people. That makes them want to do things that benefit me. I have a coal black cat by the way, who is lovely and elegant. her name is Princess. I spill salt, I have broken mirrors, and then made mosaics out of them. I feel very lucky most of the time. I am not superstitious.

Well, its just an ordinary day if u consider...even if its not a friday the 13th accident also occurred....events do not choose when to attact...its just a matter of time...u cannot avoid it.....its naturally occuring but you should be careful in anythings....

I was told that Friday 13th is a mystical day, so not necessarily bad luck, but a mystical day for someone may not be your mystical day anyway. I never really keep track on what happened on that day, I'm sure nothing special. If it's special I would remember it happened on Friday 13th at least.

I am not that kind of superstitious into believing that Friday 13th is frightful and so on. Anyway there are a lot of myths relating to cats becoming true.

Nope, I am in no way, shape or form superstitious like that. BUT your discussion reminded me of a movie I once saw called Saturday the 14th. It was hilarious. (well it was when I saw it a million years ago...lol) I think it was made in the early 80's and was a spoof movie kind of like the "Scary Movie" spoofs. Just thought I'd let you know what "popped" into my head upon reading your discussion...lol

Just another day for me. I will be doing my shopping and my other errands because I have a driver on Fridays. I have to go and bring mom her laundry also. I hate seeing mom she is so lazy now she refuses to use the rest room because she has to share it with a man and she wets the bed and then we have to wash the nasty laundry. She can use the rest room but she is just lazy. I hate her so much.

No I'm not really superstitious. Friday the 13th doesn't bother me nor does the number 13 period.

LOL! I happen to firmly believe that since I happen to own a black cat, it negates all of the bad superstitious things that could possibly happen. So my day went GREAT! LOL

Nope certainly do not have any of the usual superstitions...Friday the 13th is usually a lucky day for me, have no superstitions about ladders, as for black cats? I've had cats all my life, including black ones..in fact one of my cats that I have now, Pyewacket is black...and as you can tell with my avatar..its a black cat too--hehe

haha grandpa, i don't believe in this... i hardly noticed that friday the 13th came and went. thinking back, it was an okay day for me. had a long meeting near the end of the day, but my boss ended it on time, although there was someone else who kept talking, but my boss just said he had an appt and packed his stuff up to go. isn't it great to have a boss like that? i like black cats cos i had a friend with one, and the cat was lovely. so when i see black cats i don't avoid them or try not to let them cross my path. i kinda look at them affectionately cos it reminds me of the cat i knew! i think folks who are too superstitious can't live life properly. always avoiding this or that, getting worried by this or that. embrace life with joy i say!
