Is there any case where the death sentence should apply?

I don't agree with capital punishment because in practice, people are disadvantaged according to their ethnic and economic background. Also, if it turns out that a miscarriage of justice has occured, there is no way back. So when I think logically I find myself firmly against the idea of a death sentence for any crime.
However, when I read stuff like this case where a toddler was raped and murdered by her uncle

I would happily be the one to push the button to electrocute or hang this guy. He pleaded guilty and there can be no doubt as to his guilt. If only all cases were so clearcut.
where do you stand on the death sentence?
