So how many of you drink alcohol, and WHY?

I will tell you honestly, I am an alcoholic, which many of you may know.
And once I start to drink, I tend to post about it.
It is just a natural thing I do when I drink.
I like to feel I am not alone in this alcohol battle
I suffer from Bipolar along with a few more mental illnessses, and one of the signs of my illnesses is drug and alcohol abuse.
I sure have found this to be true.
I seem to think my drinking is not a problem, although I have a failing liver.
I don't think I will quit anytime soon.
If anyone posts for me to quit, I will not appreciate your response.
I want to hear from those others who drink on regular occations and why do you drink.
I drink, and I don't want to blame my illnesses, but I must.
I have been through so much trauma in my life and I NEED alsohol to control myself.
Althouth I know others will tell me, 'there are other ways to deal,' but even after extensive therapy and medication, alcohol seems to work the best!
I have since realized I AM an alcoholic, but that doesn't stop me.
The only thing that will stop me is if I find a way to erase all the bad things that have happened to me.
I have heard of people using hypnotherapy and they can erase your memories, but I am afraid they will erase many other GOOD memories.
I am not asking for help for my alcohol problem.
I am asking if anyone else has had to deal with this?

I do drink occasionally on a weekend.
I do it to be social and to have a bit of a laugh with friends.
I have not used it to erase memories of my problems, as I believe counselling should be used for this.
I have not had to deal with it myself, but I do appreciate your honesty in realising that you have a problem.
Good luck in dealing with it.
