I am not sure if I am taking too many vitamins. I do this because I can't afford to go to the doctor and I haven't been to the doctor in 6 years. Anyways I just wanted to know is it bad taking at least 6-8 vitamins a day. I take a B-Complex vitamin, Vitamin C, Omega 3 Fish Oil (3 capsules), B-6, Cod Liver Oil, Hair Skin and Nail Pills. This is what I usually take in a normal day. Or I do Vitamin A, Omega 3, Vitamin C, B-6, Hair Skin and Nail pills (3 of those equals 1 dose)

I did but somehow it would be weird to go to the doctor and tell them hey I have this healthy vitamin problem. The only thing I found last night was that taking too many fat soluable vitamins can kill you. Most of my vitamins are water soluable! Meaning I just flush them out with water.

I read web MD it says that taking vitamins A E D and K can cause major problems since they are the fat soluable vitamins. But it also says taking too much B-6 can cause nerve damage. I may just take one different vitamin each every other day.

Hi! I was once like you but found out that taking medicines or vitamins takes effect in our body for years. Almost all vitamins or meds have side effects. it may either give you a weak bone or give you a heart problem in the future. I suggest you do what I did. I went to my doctor and he advice me to have a flu vaccine. This vaccine improves the function of our immune system. Before, i easily got sick every time the weather changes and drink or eat cold and sweet foods and drinks. But now, I'm so happy because I was never better because of that flu vaccine. Try to read about flu vaccine, it last for only a year but I tell you it really makes me feel better.
Good luck and Take care! =)

Flu vaccine doesn't last "only for a year". It's made based on the latest known flu virus (the one of the last year I think but I'm not 100% sure). And this virus changes a bit every year, making the vaccine less effective every year. So the year you have it, it gives a partial protection, the next year pretty worse protection (but still some), etc. Some years the virus gets a major change, and then the vaccine becomes pretty useless until they make a vaccine using the new virus, and also this is what causes the deadly few pandemics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flu_vaccine#Influenza).

I have never come against so many vitamins in my whole medical career. You are right that vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble, meaning these shall accumulate in your body until utilized for body metabolism. Toxic doses of fat soluble vitamins can cause "Hypervitaminosis" syndromes. However taking extra amounts of water soluble vitamins is not a good idea either as it eventually goes down the toilet drain, if you know what I mean. I think eating healthy foods is enough to keep the doctor away. Get some life for God sake.
