With Effexor, how long did it take to get through the darkness of withdrawls?

This is my 3rd day going cold turkey off of 150mg of Effexor per day. Today seems like a million miles away from the darkness that was "yesterday", so I am beginning to get excited that I might actually make it through.
I know what a roller-coaster ride it is though, so my question is, how long did it take for your body to detox and get past the withdraw symptoms? I've heard it can all pass by fairly quickly but that even some people still have "brain shivers" after months?! Please tell me THIS isn't true.
Thanks

Oh, I feel for you! I couldn't even get out of bed when I was coming off Effexor. I think I likened it to a "drunken sea sick sailer," but not really.... only those who have experienced it know the feeling. I recently ran out of my Wellbutrin and had withdrawls, although it's not quite as bad. I think after a few days it got better... still a little "woozy" and tired for a week or two. Good luck. Hang in there- it WILL get better!

I love all of you that have responded! I found a great forum yesterday with SO MANY posts and with SO MUCH helpful advice and secret tips on how to get through it. It seems that as long as I lay down (and not necessarily sleep) a lot + keep plenty of Dramamine on hand, I do just fine. I also have noticed that I do MUCH better when my fiance is home and not at work.
Anyhow, I feel FANTASTIC today so far and it has me so very much excited.
*hugs* to psych0sarah and to all of you. :p
