What in the world is the US government up to this time?

I've been reading the headlines lately relating to a general fear of summer terrorists attacks, renewed terrorist activities and al quada(sic) being at it's strongest since the 9-11 attacks. All of these alleged developments seem to come at a time when the Bush administration is coming under it's strongest scrutiny and being pressured to end the US presence in Iraq. It seems sort of fishy to me that suddenly there appears to be so much new information about terrorists at a time when Bush is under pressure to bring the troops home and to end the war. Personally, I believe that this propoganda is being spread to the American public in order to off-set the pressure on Bush and a thinly-veiled attempt to justify his war-monger behavior. We've been hearing this crap for so long that he (Bush) is starting to sound like the little boy who cried "wolf" too many times. If and when another attack does happen in the US, no one is going to be prepared because it's all been heard before and we're all growing complacent. On a related topic: the war in Iraq doesn't make sense anymore and hasn't for a LONG, LONG TIME! Despite the latest warnings, I think we should pull out of Iraq and let the Iraqi people decide the fate of their country themselves. We are not making it better for their people or our own country. If Bush and the American government want the country for strategic, economical or other purposes and are hard-set to stay put over there, they should just annialate the inhabitants expeditiously instead of allowing the suffering to linger on and on. Then, Bush and his administration should be held accountable for war crimes and dealt with accordingly. At least the war would be over and the propoganda being fed to the world would stop.
