ipod may get hit by lightening
listen to an ipod during a storm and you may get more than electrifying tunes.
A canadian jogger suffered wishbone-shaped chest and neck burns, ruptured eardrums and broken jaw when lightning travelled through his music player's wires.
so do not use electronic devices such as beepers, walkman players and laptops outdoors during strom.

Yes it could happen mainly because waves are produced while your'e listening to it. Technology does have its perks and also its downside. One just needs to be careful and cautius in using such devices. Which is also the main reason why during storms, it is much better to switch off all electronic devices.
