balut is an exotic food of philippines. I dont know if other countries have this dish. Balut is a boiled egg that is nearly to be hatched. Have you eaten this kind of food?... what is your reaction about this food?

I've heard of it before but I've never tried it. What does it taste like? Does it taste like chicken? I've seen it on fear factor where they had to eat it. Some could hardly put it in their mouth. I think I would try it one day. If I don't like it, at least I can say that I've tried it before.

Sorry, but this sounds awful to me. I just finished breakfast and this did not help bring my day off to a pleasant start.

i am from the Philippines too and I know this balut. But to tell you frankly, I can't eat it with open eyes. I can onlu eat it with my eyes close. I am not really fond of eating balut. When I was in the hospital on duty during my Nursing student days, I was asked to If I can donate a blood, it was my first time to do that, I said yes. After donating a blood, I didn't asked for anything because I don't want anything but to just donate my blood. The wife of the patient bought me a 10 pieces balut, for me to eat. I said... Oh god Balut? I did not eat the balut but my CI and my classmates did. They like it a lot. I just couldn't see a small chicks being cooked.
