how did we get here?

What was life like before the mobile phones and the internet? I grew up in Nigeria, and I remember what life was like before technology. I can't remember the last time I used a public pay phone.. It almost feels like life has always been like this.
Also we seem to communicate less now, cos it is so much easier to send a txt message or an email than meet up for a drink and chat.
What do you think? which do you prefer? Life with or without technology?

When technology was not available, we usually go to the house of our friends and visit them. We talk personlly. There is that feeling of warmth and sincerity to both of you. Now, we have the mobile phone and internet. We don't go out most of the time just to talk to them. We can just send them messages. Technology have also given us very positive contribution on health, education and others. Still, I like technology. It makes my easier.
