if you are like me, it takes a bit of time for you to fall asleep. i tend to review the events of the day, what i have to do the next day and end up even thinking of discussion starters for mylot and sometimes, i find it hard to settle my mind down to be able to fall asleep. what do you do when you find yourself in this situation? do you count sheep? does that help? i focus on a word and keep repeating it to myself, so in a sense, i empty my mind of all other thoughts...how about you?

I usually lie and talk to my boyfriend about anything and everything. Sometimes that backfires and we stay up a lot longer than we planned, while other times we fall asleep without even realising it. The times when my boyfriend is too tired to talk to me, he usually strokes my hair until I fall asleep. That usually works.

hmmmmm..... I used to do that before, thinking of what to do the next day and thinking of the things that I did and everytime I woke up I still feel sleepy because without realizing I had lots of thinking than sleeping so I thought of a technique on how to settle my mind so I can sleep. Empty your mind means stop thinking and surrender your body to your bed.

Most of the time, when I go to bed, I fall asleep almost instantly. When I can't fall asleep right away, I usually end up getting back up and sitting in the living room with my fiance, who will still be watching TV after I go to bed. I will usually have a little snack while I sit there, and then I am ready to sleep in no time. If I can't sleep because of worry, the one thing that will usually calm me down is to get up and make a list of all of the things I need to do, or try to solve one of the problems that I am worrying about. That will usually calm me enough to let me sleep.

I also make up stories. It can be fun or really weird, but either way I fall asleep without realising what's happening.

Unfortunately, my mind just keeps on racing so I end up getting back out of bed and back on myLot and posting some more. I might get up and go back to bed several times before I finally drop off to sleep. I have had a terrible time with insomnia for years so I really wish that I could find a cure for this problem.

I make up stories in my head. That sounds weird, but it works for me. It makes me focus on one thing instead of having my brain scattered all over the place, and then it makes me sleepy and I drift off. Even so, it takes me about an hour to fall asleep. Then my kids wake me up about ten minutes later, so it isnĀ“t really worth the effort!
