It started raining today while I was swimming in our local pool, not much just a little shower, but everyone in the pool got out and ran for cover. I just carried on swimming my lengths, thinking theres no point getting out as I'm already wet!,LOL.
What would you do? would you carry on swimming or get out?

As kids, we used to always stay in the pool if it rained... unless, like others have said, it began to really storm. Then, Mom called a halt to the fun ;) I also remember that, if it rained REALLY hard, the neighbor had sort of a little spout off their eavestrough that didn't reach the ground. It turned into basically an outdoor shower... and all us kids would run over, in our swimsuits, and pretend to shower and wash our hair under it. Was a great deal of fun :) Even now, if I'm swimming and it starts to rain, I'll stay in the pool... I love the feel of the rain.

Unfortunately all our guttering ran into waterbutts, so we didn't do the shower thing, but I remember as kids whenever the lawn sprinkler came on we'd run through that, until Dad shouted at us to get off the lawn he was trying to water LOL!

Hahaha... there is no way I stop swimming just because it starts to rain. I would think about it in much the same way you do, considering I am in a pool and already wet. It would be different it is a thunderstorm because then I would be afraid of lightning, but as long as it's a nice little drizzle or even a moderate shower only, I wouldn't stop. It's usually pretty fun cause you can get out of the pool and not dry off right away... hahaha.

I think that I too would get out of the pool if thunder and lightning started, because we tend to get some really big electric storms here.

There isn't any reason to stop swimming just because it is raining. After all, as you say you are already wet so what is a little rain going to hurt. If there is thunder and lightening, then I might get out, but even then it depends on whether it is anywhere nearby or far off in the distance. If it is far enough away, I might just keep an eye on it and get out if it moved closer.

My kids love to swim when it is raining. I let them stay in the pool as long as it isn't thundering or lightening. If they aren't in the pool when it starts to rain, they will run and get their suits on and just go outside and play in the rain. I think it is fun for them and won't hurt anything.

Hi there. Yes I would, and yes I have swam in the rain. I found it to be fun and the water in the pool is so much warmer too... That is funny, I dont see the point either of getting out of the pool to dodge the rain hahaha... I wouldnt I would've carried on like you did, due to being already wet, I mean soaked lol...

Yes like you say the water is warmer and its fun to watch the raindrops bouncing off the surface of the pool, and having to pool to yourself is an extra bonus :)

I would swim!!! That is ~ unless it's a lightning storm! What's a little rain when you're already drenched from head to toe?!

When I was in the Seychelles I was staying in a little wooden bungalow by the sea. We were swimming in the beautiful blue sea. Then it began to rain. It was quite magical feeling the warm bath like sea water and the refreshing coolness of the sea. We were already wet and there was no paint getting out. I do not remember every time I have swam at a lovely beach, but I remember this glorious time in the rain.

Yes, you get the best of both the warmth from the water and coolness of the rain, I haven't been swimming in the swim when is has been raining yet, that sounds like fun too!

Very true and if it starts to storm I won't swim, I don't want to be frazzled just yet !!

Swim when it rains? This sounds very romantic, in the water certainly very comfortable, but I saw fear on the water, So far not learn to swim is a pity.

I would probably get out if it started to hail, that doesn't seem as fun as rain :))

I wouldn't mind swimming in the rain. I'm just going to get wet in the water anyway, so why not! If it started storming, if there was lightning and thunder I'd get out of the pool for my own safety, but otherwise it would not bother me one bit.
